Unfortunately the pump i replaced as shown above again failed after almost 7000 KM in Oct 2020. It probably might have failed earlier however due to lock down and covid car was used very less over last 10 months.
Anyways this time i was not convinced to put in the similar pump again. i checked the market and got the price of similar LZNF company complete set (4800 Rs). Mechanic was persistent to get the similar pump set otherwise replacement wont work and error check light wont go away.
Things to look for while replacing fuel pump and filter are the size of the fuel filter housing and accordingly the pump inside it varies and the pin size for the electric cable/switch attachment.
upon probing i got to know that the options i have are
1- chinese pump (LZNF brand - No marking on the pump) same required size 2000 Rs
2- chinese complete Fuel Filter and pump set ( as shown in the post above) 4800 Rs
3- HKT fuel pump Japanese 5500 Rs (price varies from shop to shop- 1S toyota dealers also recommend this) and it needs to be fitted in the fuel filter seperately.
4- Orignal Toyota fuel pump (Denso i believe) from 1S dealer 23000 Rs. needs to be fitted in the fuel filter seperately.
5- Orignal Toyota fuel pump (from 3S) to be arranged on order for approx 35000 Rs. needs to be fitted in the fuel filter seperately..
Neither of the above options was to my liking. specially because i was spending the money again on the same issue after 10 months and 2ndly it caused me a big hassle since even though its a small issue i still had to arrange a carriage for the car and had to pay hefty amount for transporting the vehicle to workshop.
