where to get Chain Wax or Chain Lube ?mostly mechanics just lube chain using used oil or sometimes grease the chain which is very wrong.If anybody knows where to get Chain wax here in KHI do post here..
i saw one Lube shop.the guy had a Chain Lube.when asked about its price ,he said its for 3k.
mostly u see branded Chain LUBES in these lubricant shops like Maxima Chain wax so obviously i am not going to spend that much money on it.

you can find the chain wax on marriot road in Jodia Bazar, used to be about Rs 400/can and one can lasts a long time.

which grease is recommended for use in Brake Drums.applied to springs.{talking with reference to motorbikes}

the springs do not require any grease, the brake cam however does require a dab of MP grease.

@xulfiqar can PBC (poly butyl cuprysil) grease be used to grease the brake caliper pins? I have a tin of this and read online on some forums that it is a suitable alternative for silicone grease.

no do not use PBC if your calipers have trapped slider pins like all of the japanese cars have. You can apply a very small amount of it to the brake pad backing plate to prevent squeal noise.

Which type of grease is suitable for suzuki khyber ball joints, steering rack ends, tie rod ends?

chassis grease - best to find a grease cartridge that says GC-LB - e.g. mobil XHP - if your khyber parts have an allen socket type thing on then then you need to fit a grease zerk (nipple) there or get a rubber tipped grease gun and pump grease till the boots start to swell (remember the "start" part) - dont pump them super tight otherwise the boots will blow.

I was re-doing a stuck brake caliper and so needed grease. Looked all over Rawalpindi and wasted a day but couldn't find anything I needed except but "bhai ye best qualty grease hai".

Can anyone help me in sourcing this stuff? I need
1. Silicone/Rubber hi-temp stable grease
2. Copper grease
3. High Molybdenum lithium grease for CV joints
4. Grease for bearings/inner CV (spider type)

I'd be very, VERY grateful...

^ Check post no. 59 of mine in this topic for Adenwalla & Sons Karachi. They sell Permatex copper anti seize.

For 1. A LAHORE based company seems to have produced small tubes of it. Pics were posted in this topic or elsewhere. I do not remember right now.

for cv joints a commonly available brand is abro in karachi... its in 100gm tubes... rest i saw a shop selling cofran cvj grease but that was in buckets...

couldnt find the liquimoly grease... that shamsi oil trader in north nazimabad selling liquimoly oils has no idea what a cvj grease is.

LM 47 CVJ grease is 800rs for 400gm.

There are two LM shops I checked, F-10 markaz (shifted from poly clinic area) and I-8 Markaz. Saw another LM shop in G-10 near Lillah CNG, but did not check that shop.

They did not have that a month ago, but F-10 branch said it will be available after a week. so you can call them before you go.

I have to get my CV's replaced because both innner and outer boots have been torn for many months and I've been driving the car in all sorts of mud dirt n rain since then; no idea which condition the CVJs would be in...

and @nfssaad I'll try get an LM47 tub for you too when I go to find mine. Could you check karachi for red rubber (silicone) grease and copper/aluminium graphite grease when you go to the grease vendors' areas?

I have used a lot of the cofran grease for CVJ and its a very good product, however it being in large containers makes it expensive for a DIY person.

Adenwala is on marriot rd, you cannot miss it. You can also buy a ton of other stuff there that is perfectly usable in auto workshops.
