Great Wall Motor has obtained environmental certification for a new version of its popular C30 sedan , according to a recent publication from the Ministry of Environmental Protection. The upcoming C30 features a smaller, 1.3L engine, the Great Wall’s GW4G13.
Found on current Great Wall models of the Florid and Haval M1, the all-aluminum 1.3L VVT engine can develop up to 68kW of power and 118Nm of torque. On the C30, it will be matched with a 5speed Manual Transmission. Currently, the C30 has only one engine option, the 1.5L VVT rated 78kW/6000rpm and 138Nm/4200rpm.
First released in May 2010, the C30 was the inaugural member of Great Wall’s sedan lineup, and since then has been one of the best selling cars from native automakers in China. It has already delivered over 50,000 units in the first four months of this year, which amount to more than a third of Great Wall’s total sales during this period.
