I ma fine with it but what we will do in time square?.. if you need a good afghanis food in Manhattan its Bamiyan Afghan Restaurant, NYC - Traditional Afghan Food, Catering, Private Dining

on weekend only place you can find parking will be parking garage and will cost you around 60-100 for 2-3 hours close to time square. No street parking available on weekends. Other option is for food we can meet in Queens.. many options open and we can still for long and chit chat. decide time and finalize..and let me know and I will coordinate with others in my area..

yes after food we can go for some while in Time square to do some fun..

I would suggest gathering in Queens, eat or whatever there (many better halal food options and much easier to drive into).
Finding parking around NYC is not that big a deal on weekends during nights, you just have to know where to look. If you want to park for free around times square look around the 50's to the west of 8th avenue. Free street parking during certain times, read signs.

Anyways hope to meet up with you guys soon.

Everybody wants it to be close to where they live, obviously. One good way would be to calculate the minimum driving for the maximum number of people i.e. calculate out the weighted geographical center, and then figure out the closest place to meet up.

On this weekend forget about Manhattan. I suggested bamiyan because someone wanted to stay within Manhattan otherwise my choice is Bakhrar as well.

Anyways this was suggestion. What ever you guys decide. Place and time . Let me know and I will reach there. It should be kept in mind sometime you have to play with your schedule to join this social gathering. We all have families jobs and so on.. Some time something is not of one's choice but you have to manage it...

I wanted to have a GTG. Just decide something this week , next week, next month whatever. Let me know and I Wil manage it.. OR... I will close this thread and anyone who wants a GTG should make another thread and plan accordingly. I am as busy as anyone else.. and never won a mega million lotto in last few years..

Being part of almost all pw's gathetings of larger scale in pindi isb region all i can say is pw's has grown tremendously over the years n its extremely hard to please everyone around.suggestions should b taken from all but decision should b made by 1 or 2 organisers in the end.

Some nice places you guys may want to consider are:

Old Forge in the Adirondacks.

Lake George just north of Albany.

Stone Arch Bridge Historical Park in the Catskills.

Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area and Worthington State Forest on I-80 NJ/PA border.

Considering the season, a weather check may be in order. For food, a nice BBQ will work just about anywhere. Just some ideas.

So Yes, as @speed_manan suggested, we might not be able to do a 16 hours drive in one day, unless we agree upon some thing within manageable ( 10 hours returns ), it might not be possible for a day meetup

It seems what's more plausible and manageable for all is to have two different GTG's for now. Once we make this a once in a while ritual and have a decent headcount we can plan something up in the north. For now, I would like to suggest we have one close to NYC and one in Toronto/Montreal. Synergies can certainly be combined in the future.
