First, SKM tried to use the name Kawasaki by assembling the frame and gadgets of the discontinued GTO models and got the 110cc and 125cc four stroke engines from China. They faced problems from Kawasaki company as they were not allowed by Kawasaki to use the name on such bikes which were not original Kawasakis so SKM had no option but either to drop the whole project or to introduce any model using their own trade mark name. They adopted the later and has introduced the new trademark Century. This model uses several frame features of now obsolete GTO series (known as KH series in other parts of the world). The engines have been purchased from the famous chinese company Lifan.
Plz note it does not mean that it is not a good bike, making a single cylinder air cooled engine is not a rocket science now a days and China has been producing good quality engines for several years by using the excellent metallurgy and CNC machines (computer numerically controlled machines which are capable of measuring the 1000th part of a milimeter accurately). In 2009 half of the motorcycles sold all over the world were made in China. Moreover don't forget that Honda, Yamaha and Suzukis in Pakistan are actually more than 90% made in either Karachi or Lahore.
Here is a link of a Lifan 100cc bike which has a similar engine as of new Century.
