am travelling over that route since 2010., have seen plenty of wash out sections over period of time.
had shared my trip in pictorial about 5 ~ 8 years back as well.
people are kind & polite, route is safe for families by all means. However food & drinking water supply is a serious issue. With family keep enough of munching & drinking rations along. Start shortly after Fajr to reach winder entering coastal highway by 11 is very convenient, comfortable to reach gawadar by lunch time or within day light hours.
Keep your own funnel with thick mul-mul cloth for use as filter. Do not pour / top up fuel directly from their drums or dispensers use your own desi style filter funnel. to avoid problems.
Keep car chargers for phones as there are plenty of stretches which are totally BLACK OUT for cell services and network search drains the battery very fast.
