20w50 is quite thick mate, what viscosity were you using before? My experience with LM is good so far, using 0w20 in Daihatsu Move
i just bought recently, it was used by a student, who does not know grade he was using just brand, zic A+ i think...
i am just afraid to put thin oil as it has done 95k running.....
i just found valvoline in g 10 market, i plan to use it,
95k shouldnt be issue for thin oil in car isnt absued withi think you can start from 5w30 and see if there's no reduction, move with one grade up in case its reducing
car is perfect and it was giving excellent milleage and perforamc but after adding LM 20 50 its distrbed...
then you should move back to whatever oil was being used beforeadditionally make sure you buy original oil
okz...thanks...i will be using Valvline...and change grade back...
bro use liquimoly in 5w30 grade for your car its best suited for belta
I chked wth the prev owner he was using 10w 40...... i will hv to chng bak
1st check if your car dosent reduce oil by using 5w30 its better to use that oil rather than 10w40 oil
ok, i am just concerned if using thin oil can seize engine.....
no it wont sieze the engine but it is a thick oil so engine has to make extra effort run it for ita life change it next time to a lighter grade oil and also use quality oil filters with this oil else it will become useless after filter gets dirty
ok thank you so much all for your valuable suggestions....
guys, i added 10w 40 LM again and gues what , car has been amazing again, sweet milleage and performance
....my bad that i had been using 20w 50 mostly in JDMs i had....even still these JDMs give excellent performance....
Best oil for a jdm car is 5w30 total imported pack its fully synthetic and works well in jdms
How ever one should uze higher grade oil because these jdms are always meter reversed so meter might show u 1 lac kms but it may actually been on 2 lac lol
So use high grade oil if you are not sure about the genuine milage
altough my car is not meter revered...but still i am avoiding 5w 30 as it is too thin for our weather for cars having 1 lck milleage... (just a guess)
just to be on safe side...
using 5w30 on honda fit aria milage is now 178900 still going strong but properly maintained so go for it no problem
oh really, my car is 95 k run,,,,,currently 10w 40 and its great...will try next time...
Im using 5w30 in my 2006 civic 165000kms on the odo without any reduction of oil.
This 1 lac wali theory is 20 years old now.
I started using Total quartz 5w30 when i bought belts , It was at 65k kms then , at 102k kms the engine started reducing oil so I had to shift.
this unusual oil reduction at such low milage suggests that the milage of car was quite more than what it showed on the odd meter , so I got a meter reversed car lol
sold that piece of junk
My corolla altis 2007 1.8 when i sold it, it had 330k kms. Used from day one on Shell 10W40 changed it on 3000kms with japanese filters. Believe it on 330k mileage it didn’t even drop a single ml of oil between oil changes. That car was so reliable and powerful that one couldn’t believe that it was 330k kms driven. Although it had started blowby after 250k kms but never reduced oil and performed same as it was on day one.
