The Haval HEV trim we get is comparable to Ultra Hybrid 2WD not Lux. The Lux trim lacks
- Autonomous parking + reverse
- Fewer parking sensors (front 4 on the Lux compared to 6 on the Ultra and PKDM)
- THe Lux variant doesn't have a moon roof either. Infact it is a hardtop
- Other minor stuff thats in the specs
the specs are here (i have posted them before as well).
For the FL, the car is now on feature parity with the Aussie RHD FL HEV. If out PHEV gets autonomous driving and parking and 6 front parking sensors, we would be getter a better equipped PHEV than what is listed on GWM ANZ website.

The price of the Ultra Hyrbid is 44,000 AUD.
As for pricing and profits. Toyota and Honda as well as Suzuki were and to an extent still are, are/ were ripping us off. It is only the entry of Haval and to an extent MG and Changan that have made them revisit their thinking.
The Cross came in very close to the HEV, only to drop back after it failed to gain traction. I think it is now nearly 3 million cheaper for the hybrid variant when it was launched. The non hybrid HRVs have dropped in price but have gained ADAS features.
Even now when the big three launch a new vehicle, they tend to offer stripped down versions. Look at the recent HRV, they stripped the eHEV of the Dual zone A/C. They do not offer rear parking sensors on any of the versions and the rear camera of the current lineup is static. The Thai PKDM last gen HRV offered rear parking sensors as well as dynamic guidelines. The cross launched without any Level 2 ADAS which the haval was already offering.
Now imagine had these new players (i am not counting Lucky or Nishat, since except for the tucson, they are both living in lala land with their pricing structure, esp lucky). We would be getting much, much higher prices for a even a way poorly equipped car since their would have been no competition.
So yes, sazgar (and MG and Master Motors) have arguably higher (very high) profit margins. But haval introduced so much to Pakistani market in terms what a fully loaded car feels like to drive unlike any other car manufacturer before.
