Got a 2.0T in April. Here are my thoughts:
Dislikes:
- The horn delay, HATE IT.
- Indicator stalk and Car Play/ Android Auto usb port at the LHS
- Indicator, Blind Spot Monitor sound too loud. Can't turn off the Blind Spot Monitor sound off without turning the light off as well. Can't turn parking radars off (but can turn the vol down)
- Having to manually turn off anti collision and ELK every time. Backing up from a parking sport w a dude at the back is annoying if you don't turn pedestrian collision assist off. The driving mode also resets to comfort after every startup, can't keep it at Eco
- The DCT feels sluggish at low speeds. Not sure if it is worse than a non-chinese DCT but based on what I have read, all DCTs behave like that in start and stop conditions. I think one can get used to it eventually
- The suspension is a bit underwhelming in potholes. Haven't driven other crossovers much so can't really compare. Perhaps the stiffness helps with handling?
- Thigh support could be better
- Too many emblems at the back smh. Love how clean MG HS looks
Wishes:
- 4 way lumbar support + adjustable thigh support + memory seats + height & lumbar adjustable for passenger seat
- Wireless Car Play / Android Auto
- Guide me home lights could be set for a time lesser than 30s
Beyond the initial DCT lag, the acceleration is pretty good. Besides civix x turbo, can't think of any PK cars w a 0-100 in 7.5s. Rear cabin space is great, I wish thigh support was better. Idk if I have sat in a car w a better rear cabin - Fortuner being a midsize SUV doesn't come close either. The cameras are a delight, not the 360 but the ones on the sides. Makes driving in tight spaces stress free. Tip: you can change camera views with the * button on the steering wheel. Haven't tested but excited to try the heated side mirrors in rain. Heads up display is nice. Fuel economy can't say much yet but I am expecting 8-8.5 at this point. It can go over 10 in city but in Khi traffic, it's difficult to maintain it. Was hoping for a better average. I drive w a light foot and get 10.5 10.7 from my corolla 1.6. Time will tell if fuel econ improves but I am not holding my breath. Idling takes up a lot of fuel. Oh and the seats don't feel extra ordinary when I am in H6 but man when I sit in my corolla, my back begs me to go back to H6. I would imagine the comfort is top notch on long rides. Also, I was pleasantly surprised to find out that rear windows and windscreen have privacy glass. Not super dark but definite tint
In about 10m budget, I think it is the best option. Was gonna go for civic but 5 mins in the dealership convinced me against it. Kudos to Honda for bringing in the latest generation but the car is bare bones and seats are too low - suspension has improved though. I like Sonata but the rear headroom was really disappointing. Santa Fe was way too expensive. Cross is smaller and not as feature rich (Ik a lot of people will prefer it for the Toyota badge). Your Sportage & Tucson are small and really dated. MG has pretty much lost consumer confidence. Oshan looks pretty nice but the white interior + inferior brand. Barely see Cherry on the roads - can't be surprised, it's Gandhara. Proton, well, no comments.
H6 was the right decision imo but if I had to pick some other car, I would go for Sonata 2.5 or Peugeot 2008
Didn't go for HEV because the car wasn't going to be a daily commuter + no spare wheel + no AWD + no paddle shifters + lower top speed (if you care) + wheel spin wastes the extra power. Only pros here really are fuel economy, the boot kick sensor, the DHT, nicer front bumper.
Let me know if anyone has questions.
