Need a little input from other people, sharing my thoughts below:
Now that we have competition in the hybrid crossover segment. I feel like Sazgar is minting money on their H6, and especially the hybrid variant. (This kind of also reflects in their company's profitability in the past few months).
Why I say this, Hyundai has launched the full spec (skipping only the autonomous driving part) Santa Fe in 14.7 mil while in comparison H6 HEV is 12.1 mil. This makes their price difference only (18%).
Now I made a small comparison of price difference between these 2 cars in other countries and it's as follows:
Australia
H6 HEV: ~45000 , Santa Fe hybrid (top); ~71000.
Making Santa Fe expensive by around 35%
South Africa
H6 HEV: ~730,000 , Santa Fe diesel (top) (since hybrid isn't available which from checking other markets, I've figured is 3-4% more); ~1,000,000.
Again making Santa Fe expensive by around 25% (*ATLEAST)
This clearly is because Santa Fe is a higher segment car and carries a bigger brand name, compared to Haval H6. Also H6 2.0 being priced at 10.5 mil is a true rip off. Isn't it a direct competitor to Oshan, Tucson, MG and KIA. I agree the Koreans might be stripped down and older gens but still they're better brands. H6 2.0 being 95-10.0mil would've been somewhat justified. In my opinion they've simply overpriced their vehicle by 500-700k since the last price increase, because our Awaam couldn't resist their seth urge to pay own, while their production numbers were down, during the import issue time.
I'm sure GWM-global knows it's brand value and is winning sales worldwide due to aggressive pricing and aftersales, but why don't we as consumers feel that we should be getting better value for money, if we're expected to adopt new brands?
Does anyone agree with the analysis, or I'm just overthinking?
