I agree with this. I have driven it and it has monstrous pick-up and response compared to my H6 2.0T. There may be some issue with the car in question (transmission / hybrid system related). How's the average on that vehicle? Because that could be a tell tale sign of an affected hybrid system.

Not yet, but my problem is the size. In my last trip, the boot and cabin size were a great blessing. Any smaller and we would have been cramped and may have had to leave items back in Lahore.

Salam. Congrats on the purchase. I am in the process of finllalzing between sportage awd , haval 6 hev & h6 2.0 awd, but still a bit hesitant to jump towards haval
1) Hows the AC performance in this scorching weather?
2) what fuel average are you getting from the 2.0 awd in khi traffic ? And on long (motorways)
3) I have sat at the back & in the front seats of H6 and I feel the seats are not as comfy as sportage. The thigh support is poor and no rear seat reclining like in sportage. What's your assessment on this ?
4) What about the regular service (like oil change etc) and it's cost. I have only seen 1 dealership in khi which is run by Automotive technologies, how's your experience with them ?

Also is the H6 awd capable enough for a bit of offroading or it squeaks when driving over Gravel or off road patches.

WS. Let me try to answer some of these with my H6 2.0T experience:
1. AC is as good, if not better than the Sportage. No complaints. I have driven through scorching weather for more than 12 hours more than once (Karachi to Lahore, Islamabad to Multan, etc.). Temps went up to 50'C on the OT sensor and no discomfort inside, neither did the vehicle overheat.
2. With my running, around 7-8 on tank to tank method in Karachi. On the motorway, it does go up to 12-13 when driving around 120. Over a single Karachi - Lahore trip, I achieved around 11.5, which included 3-4 short stops with the AC on.
3. Never felt the seats to be less comfortable than Sportage. I had the AWD so with the factory faux leather seats felt about the same. My experience was mostly in the driver's seats though, which frankly speaking feels a bit more comfortable than in the Sportage. This is evident after my long trips (14-15 hours Karachi Lahore for example). I feel less tired in the H6 than in the Sportage.
4. Regular service with oil change, PM etc. costs around 17-18K. If any air or cabin filters are added, the cost goes up by 8-10K. The Automotive Korangi service center is where I got my service done from. There is also another one nearby, but haven't tried it and haven't heard good experiences from that one. The Automotive one (Haval Yazdani) are quite alright. Professional staff, responsive etc. The vehicle hasn't run into any major issues so can't say about complaint management.

Last part, the AWD is mostly for better grip on slippery roads, eg. rain, mud, snow etc. Not really for off-roading. I have had some experience with broken roads and a bit of gravel patches. I didn't feel the H6 AWD couldn't handle these minor adventures in terms of road clearance and grip, but one downside I noted was minor damage to the tires. I guess the tires aren't suited for this. One of my tires got minor chips and cuts (less than 5 mm) in my last trip in which I had to go through some rough road patches and gravel segments. So one should be careful when negotiating such terrain or surfaces.

From an H6 HEV perspective

1. The HEV has an electrical AC compressor which is not driven off the engine (since the AC works in electrical mode). I can definitely tell the difference (but that may be subjective) in the effective cooling between the HEV and a ICE car like a Toyota. But do remember that the HEV is bigger than any corolla i have driven. Further there are options to make the air throw stronger (more noise) or softer (less noise). This in no way reflects that the ac is weak, its just that it cools differently. Its like going from a piston to a rotary compressor. You know those old general/ National window ac's with a piston compressor that everyone who is in their 40s or 50s remember cooling the room in a jiffy. Compare that with a modern AC with a rotary compressor. This is the difference i am talking about, if you can relate.

2. Can't say dont have a 2.0. for the HEV, I can do up to 24 km/l. HOWEVER be prepared for a lot of sneers since you will be coasting between 40 and 60 kmh to maximize EV mode driving. This is on a relatively fast and long track (about 28KM) which is mostly stop and signal free

3. Thigh support is definitely lagging. I think this is a major complain of the H6 and Jolion. Both have seats that were not designed for non Chinese body frames. If you go over Australian reviews, the seats are the most complained about feature. They are not bad, but they arent definitely the best. However with the ORA and Tank, things have gotten better (at-least from what I have seen in Australian reviews). Although the HEV and the AWD have lumbar adjustment, it really isnt the best in business either I am afraid. For reference YouTube Car Expert -> Haval H6 HEV review. For what its worth you can grow into these seats, but I wish they GWM had worked on customizing the seats for the rest of the world.

4. Oil and filter change was 10700 or so, no labor fee since this was the second service. The service charges are displayed in all service centers. I think they are standard since Haval Exp in Islamabad and Haval Rawalpindi have the same charges.

I think you got some great answers, I agree with p much all of what's said

AC performance is at par. I haven't used climate control at auto extensively, but when I did, I found myself fiddling with the fan speed to make rear cabin comfortable. I usually keep the AC around 23-24 and manually adjust the fan speed. Actually would be nice to know, what are other owners setting their AC at and whether they keep it at auto or not? But yeah, I never felt like the AC is underperforming. It does take a bit longer to cool down the cabin compared to my corolla but then again, I have the manual climate control in my corolla set to the coldest setting and H6 no lower than 23.

7-8 is a good number for Khi traffic. I am getting 7.5 currently. It can probably very well go up to 9 9.5 depending on your route. Haven't driven on motorways yet. I seek comfort in the fact that my friend has been getting 6.5 with his Sportage AWD

I am 6 foot and I agree about the thigh support is lackluster. Idt the rest of my family cares that much. However, It is definitely roomier than Sportage!

Have only been there for my 1 month inspection so can't say much. I was satisfied with my experience. I hope they expand their network

Oh and I drove a sportage last week and it honestly felt like I am driving a corolla raised up. The difference in size is pretty drastic when you're driving. There is a clear difference in power as well. The cabin space is not too bad. You can't go wrong with either imo but for what it's worth, I have heard from a credible source that Lucky is aiming to launch the new generation for Sportage and possibly picanto in the 3rd quarter.

I've found the AC performance to be excellent, much better than my Civic.

In summers its always on the lowest possible setting with strong airflow.
The one good things is that recirculation function is very well implemented. Cant smell anything from outside; best among all PKDM vehicles. Better than anything i have experienced (Toyotas, hondas, Peugeot, Stonic etc.)

You are correct about the auto setting. The vent air temp may be good but the fan speed somehow goes down more than one would be comfortable with. I keep it on 22-23 with the fan speed manually adjusted to right above the middle setting.
The same is true in my Civic X. Fan manually set. But temp is set at 20-21 in it, sometimes even lower.

My experience is slightly different. I think the 2017 Grande that I had was the best smell isolation experience. Sportage was pretty good too.
The H6 is generally good but sometimes I have a check the recirc setting just to make sure it’s not off. Faint smells do creep in rarely. Could just be my car though.

For some reason I haven't found the smell isolation to be that great, coming from a 2020 Corolla. I often find myself checking if the the recirculation is turned on. I'll probably bring it up in the next dealership visit.

Does anyone have an idea about what the ION button on the AC panel does? Is it an air purifier? The guy at the dealership said 'This function isn't available here' and I couldn't find anything in the manual

ION is for an ionising air purifier but it might not be part of the package here.
In JDM imports, we often get Sharp’s Plasmacluster ion purifiers. They mainly help with eliminating smell by reducing bacteria and fungi, rather than reducing air particulate pollutants. For that a good cabin filter is best.
