The only differences are:
2.0T
- Is AWD, so the power actually gets to the wheels quicker
- has a higher speed limit
- has paddle shifters
- has more terrain modes because of AWD
- is DCT*
- has uglier grill (subjective)*
HEV
- is FWD, so the 530nm of torque mostly ends up with wheel spin
- has more front parking sensors (6 v 4)
- has a kick sensor for trunk
- has launch control
- has lower emissions and better fuel efficiency
- is DHT*
- has better looking grill (subjective)*
In practical terms, the HEV gives a slightly faster acceleration because of the electric motor but most of the power ends up in wheel spin and it actually has a slightly slower 0-100 km/h time compared to the 2.0T. Whether you like the slight burst of power HEV provides is a matter of driving style preference.
AWD does have more practicality if you drive on rural roads or on hilly terrain or if you might need to toe, but that again is situational. Launch control is more of a gimmick and Paddle Shifters again provide more value.
*DCT vs DHT is again a matter of preference but the DHT transmission apparently functions more like dual CVT transmissions so it also wouldn't have the drawbacks of DCT.
*The difference in looks is more subjective but I never liked the front grill on the gasoline variants. However, there are now mod kits available to swap out the gasoline grill with the HEV grill.
