BYD leaned heavy towards PHEV in their lineup, partly because they were arguably the pioneers of PHEV tech. But their home market is quickly moving away from PHEVs so their sales are also apparently taking a hit because of that. They still have hope of exporting PHEV models internationally, but they get overtaken domestically, that's a lot of mindshare lost.
Ironically, GWM is also very allergic to NEVs. They've been dragged kicking and screaming into the new electric era that's the reason they only have a handful of electrified options, and even then their EV sales aren't good.
Hell, GWM was the only major car manufacturer I know who launched a brand new 4.0L V8 engine at 2025 Shanghai Auto Show when even the biggest European manufacturers were focused on showcasing their electric lineup.
