GWM reveals HAVAL H6L in official images with a Xiaolong Max inspired design
The H6L arrives with a design heavily inspired by the HAVAL Xiaolong Max (which itself is a larger sibling model) â revised front grille, enlarged side air vents, hidden exhaust outlets, and a through-type light bar spelling âHAVALâ. According to official info, the H6Lâs dimensions are 4,800 mm in length, 1,895 mm in width, and 1,730 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,810 mm. In contrast, the H6 (2024 facelift) measures up to about 4,703 mm in length (or 4,653 mm in earlier 2023/2022 versions), with width 1,886 mm and height around 1,724-1,730 mm, and a wheelbase of ~2,738 mm. Thus, the H6L is slightly longer (â 100-150 mm depending on version) and uses a longer wheelbase (â72 mm longer) than the current H6, signaling its positioning as a more spacious/âLâ model rather than replacing the H6.
Inside, the H6L is well-equipped: a 14.6-inch central display, head-up display (HUD), 64-color ambient lighting, heated & ventilated front seats, massaging front seats, rear seats that can recline to 27° or 32°, 28 dedicated storage compartments, laminated sound-proof glass, and a 10-speaker audio system. By comparison, the H6 (2024 facelift) likewise offers a 14.6-inch screen, memory seats (on higher trims), wireless charging, column-style gear selector, and updated centre console designs. So the H6L essentially carries feature-parity or slightly upgraded comfort/space over the H6, reinforcing the idea that itâs a âbigger siblingâ rather than a heavily stripped down model. The extra wheelbase potentially means more rear legroom or flexible seat layouts compared to standard H6.
Power wise, the H6L is announced with petrol turbo options: a 1.5-liter unit putting out 135 kW and a 2.0-liter unit at 175 kW, both matched to automatic transmissions. The H6 (3rd gen) currently offers either 1.5-liter turbo or 2.0-liter turbo petrol, plus hybrid/PHEV variants in many markets, and post-facelift even a 9-speed DCT and strong HEV/PHEV options. ďżź In market terms, the H6L is expected to launch in November 2025 in China with a price band of about 100,000-150,000 yuan (~13,800-20,700 USD). So essentially, the H6L slots into the segment just above the standard H6, offering larger size, more space, similar or slightly enhanced features, but likely anchored around the same architecture and drivetrain options â allowing the H6 line-up to cover more size/price points.
