This manual came with my JDM vitz and it recommends 0W-20 as most fuel efficient. But nearly everyone here on these forums is using and recommending 5W-30 which although is listed here but not most fuel efficient.
This car was is 2016 model, 1kr-fe engine, 52k driven when imported and I am going for my first oil change. Should I stick to 0W-20? The temperature scale in this manual does not give exact ceiling for 0W-20. Currently living in Lahore.

I was planning to go for Total Quartz 9000 Future GF5 0W-20

Stick to 0W-20 and keep eye on oil level every week if things go well continue using it..i am using 0W20 in vitz 2017 and was previously using the same in passo 2015 !!

All modern engines can smoothly run on 0W20, however IKRFE is old power plant without much up gradation. Also this machine is notorious for burning engine oil. Experts on forum can further explain but with my experience with this engine, I would never pour 0W20 in 1KRFE.
