Vigo 5le manual.....hmmmm...best described as TONGA;)!!! The real Vigo is the 3 litre intercooled turbo auto and I seriously doubt anyone finding a piece( that's not been run over by an 18 wheeler or thrown off a cliff) for under 2 million pkr:P!

PRADO 96/97/98 or even 99 will be the right choice from all aspects especially resale; I myself have had VIGO and sold it for being uncomfortable for passengers and i drive a 99 PRADO now.
PAJERO, only if you can find a real neat and less abused otherwise it may hurt your pockets from time to time and resale will be dependent on how enthusiastic a customer is.........

stavic 2005 model automatic,dual ac vents for all 8 passengers,capable of doing off roading,high road clearance,in 16 lacs one can get almost a new vehicle,after all 98 model is 98, 2005 model is new and much more reliable and trouble free!new engine=more powerful and its perfect for a family for traveling long distances!i dont know why are you taking out this machine from ur list?

I looked at some Prados, but the ones in my budget are really basic and I don't like the interior.

Personally i would stuck with House of Toyota as you can get some parts and service easily in NOrthern Area of Pakistan but do check the Pajero before leaving for the Northern Area for Heating Issue and 4x4 working and Tow Strap, Battery Couple Wires are must also check some other Gadgets.

Though I never owned any 4wd of such kind......yet would share whatever I have concluded after listening to people's experiences........before advising V must keep in mind all the objectives U described .....What I sincerely believe is that U can't keep these objectives altogether......U'll have to compromise somehow.....but overall Toyota Prado/Landcruiser between early and late 90's would b a better choice...there are certain reasons for advising which are...
1...Ur Budget(U should certainly get a good vehicle in 2 Million).
2...Easy to Maintain(Yet u can't say a total "no" to maintenance even to a brand new vehicle)....try to get a recently reconditioned Toyota(quota)...
3... I don't think U would get "Toyota like resale" in any other vehicle's case...moreover it will be easy to sell....
So thats my point of view......moreover I would prefer a Manual transmission over auto as Manual is much better keeping in view the places u most probably visit i.e. northern Pakistan......even manual transmission is better for offroading....

bt i want to know, wats the actual purpose of buying a suv, u hav mentioned that u r not an offroad enthusiast!!!!
so wats the pt of getting an SUV??
i mean to say that u can go upto kaghan naran on an ordinary car, without compromising ur luxury and comfort, roads are good..in june we took our Hiace to LAke saif ul malook!!!
but that was a real adventure, wont do it with my family in it

@thanda: Yeah I know I am very difficult to understand Actually I have a 4x4 and camping bug since my whole life, and I wanna see whether it lives or dies after actually owning a 4x4. That is why I want to have a capable vehicle so that if I get into offroading, then I won't have to change the ride.

@farhan786: Yeah I had found it too. Before you mentioned it, I asked the guy's number on the forum. However keeping in mind the advice from a lot of members and friends, I am not going for 1.8L, as it might be underpowered.

OK guys, I really want to thank you all for your input. I waited and waited to find a good Pajero, but couldn't. So I went for '97 Prado TZ. I will be getting the delivery today and will post pics soon.
