Cant take you cars to minimerg and better not to take to deosai.deoasai can be reached by car but not.the right thing to do.minimerg cant be reached by cars.better to leave your cars at astore and hire jeeps for deosai and minimerg. In this case you will have to come back to astore to get your cars from astore. Other way to skardu is through KKH from jahlot.the road is u der construction and takes around 8-10 hrs from jaglot. Phandar is doable on cars

Your plan is all ok if you ha e 4x4s. With cars u will have to skip deosai minimerg or you will have to hire jeeps. With cars you can do hunza,khunjerab and phandar.skardu can be done through jaglot skardu route and there you can visit shangrilla,kachura,cold desert ,mantokha waterfall,shigar valley,khaplu,on cars

are Jeeps available in Jaglot to book for Skardu for 4-5 days and what would be the cost? Is it also safe to leave/park your car in Jaglot?

No priblem in parking cars at hotel.the hotel guys will take care of your car. You can get jeeps from jaglot on rent.otherwise jeeps can also be yltaken from gilgit if u have contacts.jaglot is not far from gilgit.i can give u numbers of jeep owners they can come from gilgit if u dont get jeep from jaglot

we dont want to take sedan to all places, only asking for Deosai,
any idea what will be approx cost for this 9 days trip, not want high end hotels, only average places & average food

It will be around 250-300 K keeping in view it will be a large group. Average room rent per night will be around 3000-3500 or 2500-3000 at the lower end. Food,Fuel for all this travelling and rent of vehicles to be hired etc.

so this 300K for 4 families, as all need separate rooms etc,

Army guset house is available in Bunji . There might be one in jaglot but i dont know the condition

Hassan Bhai, I was talking to someone who went to Astore and Minimarg last year. He was of the opinion that Mid June is not the right time to visit Astore. His recommendation was late August. His point was that, June is more rainy and less green.

Can you please shed some light on this please?

Amir bhai regarding rain there is no specific season for rains at such high altitude. I went last year to astore minimerg and deosai and in a single day i saw rain, hailstorm and clear sun.
The pics posted in this forum by me are from the first week of july the condition will be almost same at most of the places.
GB gets least rainfall in pakistan

i have no plan to stay in Jaglot and will just change the ride.., i will start early from Naran and reach Jaglot and then take the jeep and head to Skardu.. does it make any sense?

You can call the jeep owner to jaglot. I think it is better to go to gilgit drop ur car and leave for skardu

Salam Nagar bhai, how are you. I am planning to travel alone from Karachi and will take a bus to Rawalpindi. Please guide me how can I reach Gilgit (near Rakaposhi base camp) from Rawalpindi. I prefer to take one seat in some good rent a car service. Please guide me in this matter as I dont have any information regarding the per seat charges and where I should stay in between Rawalpindi to Gilgit, Thanks in advance

Wsalam Bhai. You can get a seat in rent a car from Pirwadhai adda in Rawalpindi. Some rent a car services have their offices in Mareer chowk too.Sit on the car that is going to hunza. The Charges would be around 6,000/- Last year they took 5500 from front seat and 5000 from back seat passengers. Now that the petrol prices have hiked their rents would have changed. Ask the driver if he could take you to gilgit in the same rent or charge you some extra for taking you there. These cars go non stop from Gilgit to Hunza with stops for meals only
