Help For Travellers of Gilgit Baltistan

my cousin on his bike had reached Naran yesterday. They were stopped at Balakot but they requested the people at the checkpost that they will just go till naran and back and they allowed them to go. Now they are planning to go to gilgit

My relatives went to Madyan and they sent me pictures showing that all cars were being stopped at Madyan (near Bahrain). But because they had gone for Tableeg, and they used such reference, they were allowed to pass

Saw some tour operators announcing GB side tours starting 5-6 Aug. then called 1-2 hotels in skardu, they are taking guest bookings now, my only concern now is the check posts on route from Islamabad to Skardu, whether they will allow to pass,
secondly my midway overnight stay is planned either at batakundi or Chilas, will the hotels be opened there?

opening of hotels is not an issue they remain open waiting for the customers. The problem is the provincial govts have not allowed tourist to enter these areas.Vehicles if they reach zero point chillas are not allowed to go further however bikers are allowed to go as my cousing came back after GB trip just 2-3 days before eid

They might be using their links with police and other govt departments. All districts in GB have issued notices regarding banning tourism wrt covid 19.

A tour operator said that all roads are open except the Mansehra patch. I am guessing near Balakot. Is this true ? If yes then one can use the Besham route to cross into GB. I went somewhere ahead of Dandai yesterday and the only checkpost was after Thakot bazar, they were checking for NCP cars. After that i am told it's clear till Chilas. I saw some families on that route going to GB i am guessing.

tour operators are on with full passion. they said everything is open now. and i heard news too that after eid tourism will be open.

Many tour operator have their provincial links through them they are arranging the tours after 15 Aug everything is going to be open has I real an article and heard from friends so InshaAllah in this month everything will be sort out soon.
