Salam everyone,

I'm planning to visit Gilgit Baltistan in early April 2021 IA with my family especially to see the Cherry Blossom season. I have traveled in this region in the summers several times but never from KKH side.

What is KKH road condition from Mansehra to Chillas?

Which are the best places to visit for Cherry Blossom? Be it around Gilgit, Hunza, or Skardu.

Seeing pictures being shared on different forums, I noticed that the best views are in relatively less popular towns and villages. Like the best Cherry Blossom pictures from Skardu i've seen are from villages like Sok, Chunda, etc. So if anybody can specify any such locations which are a must-see then it'll be very helpful. In case I can see enough of the cherry blossom in Gilgit and Hunza then I can definitely skip Skardu.

What is road condition from Gilgit to Skardu?

I will be thankful if someone can share their personal experience of visiting these areas to see cherry blossom.

Aoa.Amir bhai blossom in skardu, hunza/nagar and gilgit, is beautiful...in terms of access hunza/nagar are easiest...skardu road is not ready yet. One option could be going by air to skardu if finances allow...Skardu is most beautiful among all...
Regarding KKH ,the dassu-chillas portion is not good at all. Too many broken patches with a lot of potholes...but if u have a good comfortable vehicle with good clearance u can do it in good time.

Is 22nd March - 29th March a good time to see peak blossom or it will be too early?
What are your thoughts about the places that I should be visiting? I have shortlisted Gupis, Khalti, Nagar Khas, Minapin, Gulmit, Gulkin, Passu in my list (I have been to all these places in summer but considering these during Spring).

Your advice is much appreciated.

You may not see full blossom in nagar ,most parts of hunza and ghizer as well. Gilgit will be having cherry blossom at that time. hunza/nagar and ghizer are around 1.5,2 weeks late than gilgit. Nagar khas has a beautiful blossom specifically area near polo ground and hoper glacier...higher you move away from gilgit (both hunza and ghizer sides) lesser would u see flowers...the areas u shortlisted are all right in terms of scenery but u may have to adjust timings to get best out of your visit

I am planning trip to GB from March 20-25th with friends.
Plan is to fly to Skardu and spend some days, and then drive to Hunza for 1 or 2 night, then fly back to islamabad from Gilgit.

I would like to ask you about possibility in Skardu of visiting scenic locations such as sheosar lake, but I hear that Deosai is closed. Is it possible to reach anywhere within Deosai Plains in this time? And please give other suggestions for Skardu area attractions.
I would kindly like for you to confirm if drive from skardu to hunza is fine for this period. When in Hunza, is it possible to reach Sost and Khunjerab Pass during late March?

I would appreciate your guidance and suggestions. We cannot plan the trip for any later so these dates are the only option and we hope that most things are not inaccesible due to snow/weather.

AOA. Sheosar like will not be accesible at that time. But in Skardu there are many other locations i.e Shangrilla , Upper Kachura Lake, Katpana Desert , Soq Village, Manthoka Waterfall, Khamash waterfall, and many others. Drinving from Skardu to Hunza, you will haver to use jaglot skardu road , work is in progress on it and it is not in good condition and chances of it getting better by March are very dim. Why don't you skip Hunza this time and keep your trip limited to Skardu only?

Skardu alone would be enough to be visited within these 5 days. You will not get time for hunza, or else u will miss some places in skardu.

It has now been decided based on group consensus that Hunza is the plan for the 5 days mentioned , between march 13 to 18.

I have read about most attractions in Hunza but I would like to ask if there are some scenic spots not known to most people and if khunjerab china border is open in Mid march.
