Here are recommended oils for 1KR-FE & 1NR-FE

As per my limited knowledge, 0w-16 (and then 5w-16) is the oil grade, not 0w-15. IMHO, 0w-16 should exclusively be used in those engines, which have been designed and tested for it; and where this grade is also mentioned in the user manual.

If for 1KR-FE, 0w-20 is the minimum / thinnest oil grade which is also mentioned in the user manual; going below this grade may not be wise.

Secondly regarding change interval, won't Rs. 8800/4L bottle be costly for just 7000 Kms run?

I think, instead of buying Imported, Expensive Oils, why not go for Best Value for money? And local, reputed brands? Depending on different conditions and parameters in Pakistan, it may be a wise decision to change oil after every 5000 Kms, and not drag after it. One should select the oil too accordingly; neither too cheap, not too expensive.

Total Quartz 9000 Future Series (0w-20 and 5w-30 in particular) easily last more than 5000 Kms change interval and is also easy on pocket. Cost / Benefit ratio may be more for Mobil in the long run. Total Quartz 9000 5w-30 / 0w-20 4L bottle is Less than Rs. 4000.

Bro, as per my understanding you have got 1KR-Fe engine and this 10W40 is not at all acceptable to be used for this engine.

Change it immediately to 5W30. Any brand with API certification with SN grade 5W30 will do.

Bro, I don't know market rates, however, official rates of Total Parco lubricants / Total Quartz 9000 5w-30 can be confirmed from the following link:

Kabhi b official rate / max. Retail price sey zyada pay nai Karna! 5w-30 is roughly around Rs. 850 / L

I can't quote the exact figure for quantity, it's in-between 3.1-3.3L, however make sure that the oil is in-between the lower and upper mark (preferably near upper mark, but not more than that).

Regarding 10w-30 or 10w-40, get rid of them ASAP. They are too thick for 1KR-FE. I prefer 5w-30, but 5w-20 and 0w-20 will also work fine. The oil should be API SN, Fully Synthetic and % genuine and original.

Although the oil may last more than 5000 Kms, but I would recommend to change it after every 5000 Kms. Always change oil filter with every oil change.

I bought Total Quartz 9000 5w-30 for Rs. 3130/- for 4L pack. Another member @tintin1 from whole sale dealer for something like Rs 2100 or 2200 per 4L pack (as he bought box of 4 or 5 bottles)

It's with 0W-20 Total Quartz 9000 Singapore packing GF ... despite 60/40 hypermiling..... peppy response remained at 100 with some random rare bursts of 140/150 which were to my surprise were unexpected for Glis 1.3 and PKDM Wagon R....

it was a dark patch on which high beam switched for brief period of time. I never ever put high beams on the car going or coming ahead approaches near.

Yellow (ECO IDLE OFF)/ Green light (ECO IDLE ON) ..... one has to switch off manually where Eco idle is not required....

For reference:

I got following information regarding engine oil grades and their quantity (with filter and without filter), from the latest owners / users manuals for Toyota Passo and Toyota Vitz (for JDM):

The language is Japanese, but engine oil grades, engine types and quantity of engine oils is understandable.

It may also be noted that engine oil quantity for 1KR-FE in Vitz and Passo is Different (although the engine is same). There is difference of ~300 ml. Passo takes more engine oil than Vitz.

(Please keep this thing in mind too, at the time of changing engine oil and refer to the exact owner manual for your car)

For 1.0L, 1.3L and 1.5L Vitz (all variants are Non-Hybrid)

Recommended Oil Grades: 0w-20 and 5w-30

(It may also be noted that 5w-20 is nowhere mentioned, although it is not difficult for Japanese to mention this oil grade too with the rest and it easily adjusts between these 02 oil grades, but still, there will be reason for it)
