Sir you didn't mentioned about Turbo Civic 1.5 although its not the right forum but need to enhance my knowledge?
I am sorry this oil thing i have discussed with a very learnerd person worked in National refinary for 40 years and then i replied.
Although its off topic but we have been extensively cautious about oils being used in our industrial Gas engines too and have clear understanding regarding TAN, TBN, viscosity index, additives, SN, SM, SL, PAO etc.
Again see the above shared page .... it is giving the operating range and has nothing to do with Pak or jp temperature / climate otherwise 0W-20 , 0W-30 oils would have not been used in Paki Audis, Civics etc... Sir!!!!
20-50w is definately needed but for engines in which it is recommended....
Sir!
This particular car engine focuses fuel efficiency
The thicker the viscosity is the more resistance within engine moving parts hence will be less economical.....
Plus the max wear tear of an engine is at the time of cold starting whether winter or summer.... during every cold start some new engines now a days having complex passages and orifaces needs fast lubrication and oil film on the crank mains and big end bearings along with film on cylinder liner and vvt cam shaft mechanism to avoid premature wear tear so uses less/ recommended viscous oils for rapid oil flow.... There clearances are designed for that thin oil.... putting thick oil will only cause premature wear resulting in high oil consumption.
As this is not a self asumed theory. Its an out come after discussion and feed back from the oil companies like Total, Shell, Mobil , Chevron to wh9m we are working with.
Our same engine running in Siberia and in Sheikhupura shares the same OEM recommended oil but with different replinshing intervals.
Regarding UAE , my younger bro there having 9th Gen Civic was using PAO SN oil having replenishing interval of 20000kms by the dealership. And you know SN PAO oils are the most thinest and low in viscosity.
Sorry for the long reply...
