i am currenty using vitz 2007,mileage(acc to the meter)is 28k..it came from japan with 22k and i have driven 6 k myself here in khi.can anyon please tell me which caltex oil should i use?i prefer zic A + buy there a a lot of spurious zic lubes present in the market thats y i want to switch to caltex,which i can buy from any petrol pump,without the fear of it being a copy.

Passo and Vitz owners, please use Liqui Moly 5w-30, or 5w-40 max, and see the results on engine performance as well as a positive impression on fuel economy as well.

Have witnesses this in 3 Passos as well as 2 Vitzs till date.

you are reading and getting wrong information by reading their provided manual for using oil .

as per my research 5W30 Grade is for ( -30 degree c to Zero degree ) , yes it is very thin and gives better millage because it is very
smooth to start and operate to engine .

as per weather condition of pakistan ,minimum our requirement grade is 10W30 . which is for ( Zero c to 40 degree c ) .

if i am wrong ,any one can guide me .

Firstly a big thank to the gentleman who sent me complete manual of Toyota Passo by email. Am really thank full to him.

Here is what they recommend in the manual.

1KR-FE (1000 CC engine) 0W-20
1NR-FE (1300 CC engine) 5W-30

They repeatedly mentioned in the manual that for "BEST FUEL CONSUMPTION" feed 1KR-FE with 0/20 oil. it will give the best mileage.

I know hundreds of Vitz are out there and people are pouring 20/50 oil and changing after 3K.
Moreover I've checked with LM's head office in Germany and here is the min. & max. range of the oils we can feed to 1KR-FE.

Minimum 0W-20
Maximum 5W-40

These cars will ideally work in above oil range.
So technically these engines will "not work ideally" if we will feed them 10/30, 10/40, 15/40, 20/50 etc. oils.

Presently Kixx G1 (Tin pack) is 0/20. Price 2800/4L. SCI is 5~6K. Just forget either its summer or winter, if you want to save on fuel consumption, then 0/20 is the best choice.

At normal engine operating temperatures, there is no difference in viscosity between a 10w30 and 5w30. The latter is more useful For cold starting. Lets say that both are tested at ambient temperatures of 0 degrees (just an example; real life testing temperatures may be different). The 5w will behave like a 5 SAE would behave at engine temperatures. The 10w will behave like a 10 SAE. Once they are warmed up, they behave exactly the same.
There are no significant advantages for the 5w 30 for hot summer months. However there are no disadvantages either, except perhaps higher cost.

Gentlemen!

I am driving Toyota Passo from the last two years and currently the ODO is 72,000 K.M. Currently my car is gives 10-12 km/liter fuel economy. While scan the scanner shows all the parameters are working perfectly but i am still facing the fuel economy issue.

Kindly advise in this case and also confirm the best engine oil for better mileage.
