Yes total quartz 9000 is full synthetic was shellhelix hx7 is semi synthetic. U get total full synthetic for the price of hx7 so go for total. Great results

Honda is recommding 5w20 in their cars. I wonder if thats applicable for toyotas too. What do u think?

I would like to point out that the most important aspect of motor oil is its rating/ service classification.
Since 2010 onwards the automobile manufacturers have opted for thinner oil, the reason being lesser tolerances in the engines and to improve the fuel economy.

Pls ensure that you use fully synthetic oil having API grade os SN/ Islac GF-5.

Hybrid/ Start & Stop engines have to undergo multiple start ups, due to this reason they require even thinner oil like 0w-20 which ensures that the oil reaches the critical parts rapidly.

As Crude101 has pointed out Atlas Honda is recommending 5w20 in their cars, same is good for Toyota too.

I have kept 2010 Altis for 8 years and through out the ownership I used thinnest oil available. I never had any problem with my car.

Nope. It is not 5w-20. It is either 0w-20 (technically, it may not make much difference, but still...) or 5w-30. For older vehicles, its 10w-30.

Yes, you are right! Shell Helix Ultra is now available in 3 oil grades; 0w-20, 5w-20 and 5w-40. But I was talking in specific reference to Atlas Honda Pakistan, and specific oil grade for its latest line of vehicles. It is 0w-20, and not 5w-20 (No doubt, 5w-20 is easily compatible too).

On recent oil change at 80000 KM Toyota dealership suggested to use Toyota Petron 20W-50 as according to them 20W-50 should be used after 75000KM. ?
