Well, this was the end of our trip, and it was great to be back with our families and loved ones, alhamdolillah.
For anyone who intends to go to Skardu or Gilgit, here is the number of our guide, Ali, 0344 9113707. Ali is an excellent lad, who would not rip you off. He does treks and expeditions both. You can give him Ahsan's and my reference. Ali has also accompanied the famous writer Mustansar Hussain Tarrar and his family on all of their trips to the Northern Areas and Tarrar Sb has commended him in his book also. Second, Indus Hotel is a good place to stay at, great food, and courteus staff, the rent is Rs 500/night.
A piece of advice to anyone planning a trip to the Northern Areas-travel with someone with whom you have travelled extensively before and are aware of their mood swings. In these places, the weather, the environement, and being on your own puts a lot of pressure on a person's nerves. Travel with people who can buck you up when you are down and are out to make a tiring trip fun.
