When we reached near the Rest house the Sun came out and I could not resist myself of taking these two final pics.

Final thoughts:

The track is much more attractive and beautiful than what the pics show. It's scenic beauty is on par with the Ayubia-Dunga Gali Pine Line track.
The hiking is gentle but steady and it seems to go on forever. No extra fitness is required to do this track. Daily walkers can easily do this track.
The top is an excellent and very unique spot. I have never in my whole life seen such a majestic place. You get a very different feeling when you walk on top of a mile long stone.
If you are physically very fit than there are two more options that you can take.
Start the track from Lehtrar Rest House. It is almost a two hours track through pine forests from Lehtrar rest house to Danoi rest house.
Descend on the other side of the mountain i.e the Narh side. It will take 4 hours to reach the Azad Pattan bridge on River Jehlum from Panjpeer.

Guide/porter available for this track from Lehtrar Rest House area?
From Azad Pattan to Rawalpindi, Public transport is available in evening hours??

I haven't done the Lehtrar-Danoi part but I know it is a jeepable track that leads from Lehtrar rest house to Danoi. To reach Lehtrar rest house you will have to come a little further from the Lehtrar main stop/Bazaar where there is Petrol Pump (I think it is Caltex though it is the only petrol pump in that area). The rest house is just behind that petrol pump.
I don't know the distance between Lehtrar and Danoi rest house but it will approximately take 2 hours to reach there so it must be somewhere between 5-6 km.
From Danoi to Panjpeer it is approximately 8 km. Time taken by us was almost 3 hours. But I think it can easily be done in 2.30 hours.
I don't have much knowledge about the Panjpeer-Narh-Azad Pattan route but I think it will take 3-4 hours and the distance will be between 12-14 km.
To reach Lehtrar rest house you can take any Hiace/Coaster etc. going to Lehtrar/Kotli Sattian/Malot Sattian/Bagh etc. We saw a coaster for Bagh after every 10 min. though I am not very sure if they pick up the travelers of Lehtrar. Best option will be to reach the Khanna Pul and then take whatever transport is moving towards Lehtrar and beyond.
I think guides will be easily available as all locals know the way. Not sure about porters though.
From Azad Pattan bridge I think transport will be available throughout the evening/early night. It is on the main route between Rawalakot, Palandri, Hajira and Abbaspur etc. moving towards Rawalpindi. It takes almost 2 hours to reach Islamabad from Azad Pattan via Kahuta.
Well technically speaking you could do this track alone. But it is not recommended to do it alone as the area is famous for thieves and robbers etc.

No we didn't take any guide...
We were three people.
Expressway? You mean Islamabad Expressway? Then you could follow the road. It is almost 40-45 km from Khanna Pul to Lehtrar.

Just near Kotli Sattian which is further 12 KM from Lehtrar a road goes towards Ban, Karor. From Ban one road goes to Patriata and from Patriata Expressway is about 12 KM. I am not sure about the distances but I have traveled on this route on a bus a few years ago. There must be some tracks but I am unsure about them.

Any car/jeep can go to near the top from Kahuta-Narh side. We saw a Suzuki Bolan near the top. From the Lehtrar side it used to be a jeep track all the way up but there were at least two areas where due to land siding the track is destroyed and no jeep can cross it. Maybe a bike can cross those points but definitely not a jeep.

Brother In Lehtrar Area most of Sher Dil People lives in Pine Jungle Who do not kill But Robbed & taken from You sloppily & drearily.They Come out mostly in Evening Time.
I Suggest try to go no top from Narh Site , which more safest Site as compare to Kotli-Sattian Site.
On Narh Site Public transport are easily available from PTV Booster Mor.

PVT Booster Stop is in mid way of Kahuta-Azad Patan-Rawalkot Road. Take left after Gardens (Guava Garden).

Well the more famous ones are in Ayubia/Nathia Gali region. Like Dungagali-Mukshpuri, Nathiagali-Miran Jani, Nathiagali-Thandiani etc.
