This is NOT A RIP OFF.
Some people have the common sense to realize this is a fair price (adnan, kashan2010, hash4u) but others are blindly chanting the poor mans chorus. This is a car enthusiast site. Be smart with your analysis. Grab a pen and piece of paper to do your own math instead of automatically complaining.
1. Thailand:I've pointed out the exact car costs 3,300,000PKR in the country it's made! You're only paying 3,600,000PKR after duties and taxes are taken into consideration. You really think that's a rip off?
2. Australia:Have the decency not to compare Australia. The car costs a few thousand more than you quoted. Very sneaky. Australia only has 10% duties and they are charging 2,600,000PKR + delivery. Pakistan has 100% duty and they are charging 3,600,000PKR. Does that even make sense to you? If Australia had 100% duty the car in Pakistan would be cheaper. This obviously means that the Pakistani Honda dealership is making less money then the Australians. If anything, Australians are being R-I-P-P-E-D Off. Not us!
3. India: Lets compare India instead. An Indian Accord costs 3,000,000PKR and that's after the consideration they make it! We on the other hand, not only import one from Thailand but also have to pay 100% duty on it. Still, Pakistanis are not being ripped off.
4. Used BMW/Merc:If you want to buy a used, abused, rolled back, non-warrantied BMW or Mercedes with no leather then the choice is yours. Just dont compare buying a new car (which has full warranty) to a car that some European or Japanese wanted to throw away and you gratefully bought.
Finally, if you think it's a rip-off do what Hash4U said. Import yourself a brand new (not a used and abused old) and see what is cheaper.
