Can you please tell me how many Kilometers has your Airwave had done on the previous CVT Oil?
The Jerky/dragged/delayed response also comes from when you don't change the CVT Fluid before every 40,000 KMs. your mechanic is right, if it's due to CVTF, it will go away in no time... just in a day or two. I highly suggest to get your CVTF changed every 30,000 to 35,000 KMs. Believe me, you can go even 3,000 KMs extra on your Engine Oil, but you shouldn't go even a single KM when your CVT is due. The Gear Box is precious. And always use Caltex/Havoline for your Engine Oil. no ZIC KIXX etc... make sure you're getting your Oil from an authorized dealer coz there's a lot of 2 number Oils in the market for almost every big & small brand.
I think the optimal RPM should be around 1100 (100 give or take).
I am getting 14-15 in winters and 11-13 in summers. (these values are actual..... not by the dashboard meter which shows the averages)
And yes, if your jerky response doesn't settle down in a day or two, ask your mechanic to check the Mounting Brackets, specially the one which is right over the gear-box. (on the left side of the battery)
