I would say that it's not about personal liking. I would see where I drive the car. I have a fielder 2007 and it has proven to be up to my expectations so far.
The thing is that I have to take the car to my village almost every second month. I don't think that an airwave would survive the very thin dust and the areas where there is no roads whatsoever, and have to drive the car on tractor tracks... For me, fielder was the obvious choice. But if you have to drive in the city altogether, yes, Airwave has better looks.
BTW, both are CVT... (to my dismay, Fielder 2007 is CVT, not 4AT). The trick to tell is to look at the shift lever. If it says PRNDSB, it's CVT and the B is on the right side under the S, whereas in 4AT, it is PRND2L and L is in the middle of the zigzag gear shift.
Let me know if I am inaccurate about any of the details...
