@dmszack! When you import such a delicate thing from abroad, you have to pay Custom Duties, Shipment Charges & Taxes on it. And if you have ever bought anything from abroad, you will know that it literally amounts to 100% (and at times 200%) of the product's original value.
So even if he chooses to sell it >$200, its his call and let him earn his profit margin, because he is the one who took the pain of importing it here, and he deserves to earn profit on it if he wants to.
I am no way favoring anyone here. Just letting you know that how these things work.
Agar Ebay pe $104 ki sale ho rahi hay to PK main MUFT main nai aa jaye gi. Paisay lagtay hain.
On the other hand:
- He may have brought it to Pakistan via some friend or relative coming from abroad to Pakistan, to avoid the shipment, taxes and custom duties on it.
- He may have paid a bribe to custom officials inorder to get the product without paying any duties at all or rather less than the original cost of duties.
But ofcourse, we can't jump on to conclusions. So even if we assume he brought it here Legally, $220 price tag despite looking a little absurd, might be justified.
