Honda CG 125 Euro 2 OR Suzuki GS 150?

I like GS, but can't deny the fact that it has issues. I did some basic modifications to deal with some, but couldn't get handle on others.
So when i got the chance to sell it at almost negligible loss, i simply took it.
If you have gone through my GS thread, i think you can very well decide for yourself that you should purchase it or not.
It is not like if you purchase GS, it's gonna blast or something
My friend who purchased my GS complains of uncomfortable seat and weak brakes only. Rest he is happy with his bike.
I like GS , but i just don't trust it enough to recommend it to somebody who is concerned about dealing with issues in his new bike. Even in this same thread, i recommended CG to thread starter over GS.

Deluxe did 38Km/L last time i checked. GS used to give 40-42Km/L. Can't say about CG, but i think it would be somewhere between 40-45Km/L
So yeah, Deluxe seems to be petrol thrusty among these.
Not much idea about spare parts, but even if those are expensive, it's not like you are gonna need them everyday. Good thing is they are readily available.

Well its late to offer my opinion now..But i still want to ask some questions?

Are you gonna use your bike for within city or intercity travel?
Daily running?
Can you afford or donot care about fuel economy?

Its good not to limit your choice to flagship models..Same purpose can be served by 100,70cc counterparts..Its a matter of choice and other factors like reliability, running and economy

In nut shell the desired features that I am looking for in a prospective bike are as follows

1. Good & Tireless Runner - should not get tired of running at high speed in traffic on a hot day
2. Good Quality Manufacturing
3. Fuel Economy
   4. Bike with Height (as I am heavy and tall - my pillion rider too; both 6 feet and each around 110 kgs)
4. Comfortable Seat (both driver and pillion rider)
5. Comfortable Stable Drive
6. Self Start
7. Handle Lock placed at ignition
8. Fuel Gauge in speedometer
9. Low noise levels
10. Disk Brakes
11. Complete After Sales Service
12. Universal Availability of Genuine Spare Parts
13. Universal Availability of Qualified Mechanics

Brother, also consider that I am 40ish of age. It is my primary travel mode for work. My work involves a LOT of travelling with in R.Pindi and Islamabad at high speed and that too often with a pillion rider (second seater.) I work for myself. I travel day and night. Besides, I perform all house hold errands on my same bike.

At present, I have a Honda CD70 that I had bought about 5 years ago. I have always carried out my bike' s maintenance like clock work. Always have used genuine Honda spare parts from Murree Road and always used HAVOLINE engine oil. Workshop is Authorized Genuine Honda Mechanic that also is on Murree Road, R.Pindi. However, now I feel that there is a genuine requirement for increasing my engine capacity due to work load increase. At the same time, inflation is getting out of control and markets are totally thandee. Businesses are suffering badly as there is too lean a business - almost none!

This time while purchasing my bike I also have an important consideration for Social Appeal like going to meet family and friends etc. Now brother,this is the entire back drop in which I am seeking a bike for myself that should meet my requirements.

Brother Gul, many thanks for your kind reply. Firstly, I do not have access to a SUZUKI GS150. Though I wanted to buy GS150 however, SUZUKI employees have repeatedly dissuaded me from purchasing it. I like GS150 for its CLASSY looks, self start, low engine noise, good battery size (perhaps biggest battery size in all available pak bikes), good engine size etc. However, its after sales support is appalling. Then you (brother Gul) also sold away your GS150 at first available opportunity It added to my shying away sentiment from a GS150 until they upgrade their manufacturing quality and after sales support (parts & qualified technicians.)

Parallel study of PW forums regarding Ravi Piaggio Storm125 revealed similar issues with quality, seat structure (from pillion rider' s point of view), after sales support (genuine spares & qualified technicians) remain a big question mark. Of particular mention would be the rude attitude that Ravi Piaggio Marketing Rep. Asif Mehmood on PakWheels Forums has exhibited was enough to pitch my opinion against Ravi-Piaggio products. I have worked globally with most of my education abroad including two business M.Phils from top Western business schools. I am sorry to say that, unfortunately, the gentleman has no idea where the world is heading to. Although his remarks and attitude were directed towards other PW members but those were quite an indicator of Company's potential ideals and attitudes in store for us. We, the people, can bring a change in the will & mind set of such companies by not buying from such companies whose management reflects bullys and bossy attitude towards customers - the same customers because of whom the company is getting its revenues!!!

However, I hope that one of these days some thing nicer will click my attention. Till then I better be patient and stick to these forums. The contribution of forum members is THE source of primary data - some thing the value of which cannot be estimated with existing economic / financial tools. Bless you brother Gul for your and other PW contributors for their continued support to me to find best suited bike matching my needs. I will keep looking forward to your ideas and contributions till I buy one Thank you all.

Another flip side (besides absence of a self start & loud silencer noise) with Deluxe is comparatively higher fuel consumption. However, I agree to you that for now, Honda CG125 Deluxe seems to amply fulfill my remaining needs.

SUZUKI GS150 does not fulfill my needs listed at serials 2, 5, 6, 8,11, 12, 13 & 14. Now that is 57% less fulfilment of my NEEDS - that too at a dearer price!!! If we assign value to my list of NEEDS then I find SUZUKI GS150 missing critical needs. That means the value of difference ratio of 57% gets compounded!! (Mind you, I have not included resale aspect in this analysis!!!)

I believe cost benefit ratio will creep towards equilibrium if SUZUKI drops GS150 price by same percentage. That seems unlikely. Therefore, this product seems to have become a liability - even for SUZUKI​. These calculations are for my personal use only. However, since you all are contributing with sincerity and empathy therefore, I felt it imperative to share my workings with you good lot as well Please see that results will be different for every person because of our unique preferences.

I tend to go with bhai Gul Sb. as he has actually used a product and has first hand experience. However, I keep every opinion in high regard. Many thanks again.

Unfortunately the bike that you seek is not available with local manufacturers. I had similar type of requirements. So I bought a GS150, corrected its quality issues, replaced rear tyre and rim, installed front disk break and recently a fuel gauge. I would recommend that you go for GS150 as it has self start and most powerful engine available with local bike manufacturers. You can then put on things like disk, handle lock (in ignition) and fuel gauge.

So I bought a GS150, corrected its quality issues, replaced rear tyre and rim, installed front disk break and recently a fuel gauge. Dear BlueHorn, thanks for your contribution. I may not repeat my reply here that I had posted for dmszack. However, your post has made me fancy going for lesser changes like adding a self start and handle lock to Honda CG125 Deluxe?! I wonder if that is technically feasible!

it's not on side, it's in same ignition switch
