Plzz u can argue with someone only having one car..and who defends it like rolls royce. Most of the people kept.both..i musrlf have kept city for ,3 years and bought it twice because of the lower price. Alhamdulillah, never looked anyone with a rod in my neck while driving city. I think we should stick to the topic of 1.3 Corolla, and not its higher end variants, versus a 1.3 city. Its the matter of personal choice. If one lives in urban/suburban areas and requires good engine performance with fuel economy then city 1.3 should be preferred over corolla 1.3. But if the user has to travel to the rural areas often then 1.3 corolla is a better choice. Also, since you are already looking for almost 10 years old car, chances are that you will find a city in better condition

City has better fuel efficiency, better drive, you will get latest generation but it is a bit uncomfortable on UNPAVED ROADS. Also it has low ground clearance.

Interesting discussion, Sadly people here donot realise two are very different cars. One is a urban compact sedan designed for fuel efficiency (within city) and a perfect commuter car for clean paved roads.

Ap pehle apna usage dekhen, if its 100% urban , or mixed with rural or bad roads , both have equally cheap maintenance and run trouble free, City's plus side is its average which is up to 17-18kmpl whereas corollas rarely do over 12 (9-10 average)

City's upside is its 1.3L 100hp engine, whereas corollas downside is its 1.3L 89hp engine with a heavier body.

And City has trunk space of 506L while Corolla has 470L

All of that is remedied with better tyres to some extent

I kept city twice for 4 years 2015-19 and 2009-12... Manual 1.3 ivtec variant....never got 17 kmpl on it..in city... Its a good car, and very reliable...does a merely 2 kmpl better than Corolla at major cost of comfort and interior space. I lovee city because i had aspire and atleast it was better than gli in features..whrn i bought in 2015. Afterwards...corolla improved and atlas only added stupid sharkfin antenna only

...at a major cost of almost 5-7 lac Rs difference too. If you need more comfort, add more lacs and buy an audi or Mercedes or a RR.

City is a compact sedan and compares only to a platz/belta/yaris category , compare it with civic instead.
