It's the catalytic converter. I was facing the same issue, especially in second gear the car would pickup for an instant like half and second and then completely bogged down until it picked a little more speed. Had the catalytic cleaned and it solved my problem.
Get the catalytic converter taken out and have it thoroughly cleaned.
