HIstorically the City variant introduced, of late, in Pakistan is based on the lowest spec model. for 2014 the lowest spec is the "S" variant (as i posted before).
This is the cabin for the "S" variant
This will be the interior of our 1.3 Variant, probably in Titan rather than Black. If Honda picks up on the new model and nothing is compelling them for how things are.
Notice the amber Instrument cluster.
For aspire you will have the usual goodness of 1.5 engine, Nav, Alloy rims, 4 speakers and perhaps the new white LED dash with digital read out.
Anything else and it would start eating into the sales of Civic.
The new GLi offers nothing beyond Aspire right now either; with aspire you get
1. Nav
2. Alloy rims
3. Leather Interior
4. 4 Speakers
The New GLI offers none of these and costs more. The Auto variant also costs more. And both are 1.3L; and weigh more. The interior of the new toyota is really boring and without the nav offering from Toyota (right now) for GLI, the interior is going to be really really boring.
I fail to understand what has Atlas has to 'live upto' when it comes to the new GLi or Xli. Apart form the new exterior the 1.3L City > Xli and 1.5L Aspire > GLi
Also of note, the new city exterior is more of an evolution of the current design rather than an all new design. And as has already been expressed that the new city is selling well (when i took my civic for service to Honda Classic, 3 rolled off with new customers, including one bank leased), Honda is pretty safe
PS:
And seeing how people have really taken to the top of the line Grande, i bet Honda are more in the mood for bringing in the Civic facelift etc rather than spending millions on retooling for new city.
