Clear stocks of exactly what? The body changes and odo leds change together with new audio solution is all new, nothing old stock about it. I think, thinking tht honda will launch a new(er) city in the next 12 months is like living in fools paradise. Theyre calling this the all new city, 4 months onwards what are they going to say; all new newer city?? Makes absolutely no sense. The toyota le series did mot entail new kits, only rinse repeat of what was at hand.
If they were interested in only clearing stock they would simply either reduce price or add cosmetic features like fog lamps, orvm mounted lamps, not change grills, bumpers, audio, odo etc.
City is selling well, no point in changing whats a cash cow for honda. And please honda and toyota's market focus is very very different outside of a few sales. Honda is urban young females with disposable incomes, young families where both partners earn. Toyota is uncles, rural population, customers outside large urban areas (read isd, khi, lhr) and those interested in renting, or simply buying to sell at break even or profit (read xli sales).
Civic on the other hands comes under the firing line of grande, an area where honda never had to worry, thus a facelift of civic makes a lot more sense at an earlier point in time. This would be the most cost effective way for honda to move forward while maintianing healthy margins
