Please stop with the delusions. You have been parading this for a long time now. What is this miraculous "tech" you keep referring to in Honda City? Please enlighten us.

What objective data you have to verify your claims of a Honda City engine being more reliable than a Toyota Corolla's engine? Please backup your claims with credible independently verifiable objective data or your words hold no weight.

What makes you believe the only reason Honda didnt launch the latest generation of City is because it has some "tech" that makes it still competitive to a Corolla? Don't you think the City is still being sold in adequate numbers is because there is no brand new car alternative in that category(sub-compact B segment)?

FYI, if you go to Germany, you will see Mercedes Benz as taxis. If you go to USA, you'll see Ford Crown Victoria, Prius, Camry, Sonata as taxis. Being used as a taxi is a testament to the reliability and dependability of a car. And instead of being negative, it should be considered as a badge of honour. It means it's easy and affordable to maintain, practical and reliable.

Please do not speak like a fanboy. Try to back your claims with verifiable data. It makes the conversation more productive for every participant.

At the end of the day, whether it is Honda Atlas or Indus motors, all that matters to them is their profits, and they will do anything to maximize that.

Also, airbags are not a "feature". To consider airbags or any other safety equipment as a feature is extremely sad and reflects on our sorry state of affairs. No manufacturer will give 8 air bags, active safety assistance if it is not mandated by the government of Pakistan. They are here to make cash, that's about it.

Edit: turns out, we have no prevailing policy regarding minimum safety equipment in cars. Lol

Sir city sold in Pakistan is best car ever produced, the best the world has ever seen, epitome of Grace and grandeur, dk why Honda's so dumb to not even sell the nameplate in first world countries, I guess the people there are quite dumb.

Now coming to reality, city is yh better to drive than the crap that is xli/gli but that's not a great benchmark so maybe we can end this?

The drive by wire in City is such a pain to drive. The car is literally dead in low RPM. The low end torque is extremely bad due to which, even the Mehran overtakes it in hilly areas. I have experienced this myself several times as I used to own that i-VTEC City. Moreover, the undercarriage of my car including the wheel wells started catching rust even though my car was brand new and I don't live by the seaside. I live in Islamabad. In my opinion interior of Corolla is more beautiful but that is just personal point of view. City metal gauge is very weak.

I fear if atlas Honda continues the typical Pakistani business's rent seeking behavior like this, by September 2021 Honda global would be announcing closure of pakistani plant.

Especially important in the context that Honda and many other brands globally are closing micro volume plants globally to consolidate volumes in few production bases so they can direct resources to new challenges like electrification. Honda has announced closure of plants in UK, Turkey, and Philippines. GM just pulled out of all right hand drive markets. Doubt if local partners in Pakistan continue with their lazy behavior, they'll be able to convince anyone to keep production here.

It's very difficult for atlas to launch any new model in the near future. The company has been facing significant financial difficulties in the past 1 year. From having almost no financing in its last audited annual financials (march 19) to having almost 10 billion of loan as of december. So much so that the company has incurred a loss in the 3 months ended december 19.

The car sales having been doing very well as well.

We certainly hope that Atlas team realizes the consequence of not changing the model post YARIS launch. Despite being a Honda fanboy, I reckon it's gonna be Game Over for Atlas considering the lack of safety features in the current dated generation.

The consumers are becoming more and more aware, not having the basic safety features in a dated model would definitely affect the sales once another option is available in the competitive market.

Atlas should update the generation, lower its margin and target to achieve the same profits on volume sales for the time being, and not think of safety features as a luxury instead treat them as a basic necessity. Would change the fate of the company for better in the days to come.
