Honda City Aspire 1.3 Mileage Problem

In start my milage was also 13-14 on long route. And now getting as per attached image but with lite foot only and speed at max 90.... otherwise 80.. my traveling is about 200km one side.. and if i drive at 80-90 it took almost 3h30min and if i drive rash it takes 3H15min... meams no major difference. So drive peacefully to make yourself relax and fuel efficient as well.

when u ask a 1.3 auto city guy about mileage
he either lies
or does not reply
reality is, it sucks

even with little tweaks you wld get slight improvement

1.5 for auto
for manual 1.3 is perfectly fine

prior research before buying a car is useful

probably this is y the previous guy sold a almost brand new car

No that guy got a new model of 1.3 aspire prosmatec from the company where he works thats why he sold this .. and i know the owner of that company personally .. but when i bought this car i did'nt know the name of the company owner .. later i found out

Today i did a reset on meter and drove with very very very light foot on shahra-e-faisal on 60 to 80 km/h with ac on and i got this mileage for about half an hour .. the minute i got stuck in traffic it started giving me 9km/h..

mine manual gives me 13-17 depends upon road , traffic and speed

on canal road and motorway (at 125 km/h) its around 16

Next time calculate using tank to tank method. This on board calculator is pretty useless on long routes. 19.9 kmpl is too good to be true.

I as i already told you most of my driving is intercity and i use to fill my car always neck to neck. Once i leave home (Lahore) use to take fuel from PSO Bhadru (M2 babu sabu) and and travel distance from bhadru is exactly 178km. And on return again take fuel from PSO (Kukrali Gujrat) and use to drile till my Home Back. (This is my travel cycle)

Now pFB in pic my Fuel log mentioning actual and display average

Above screenshot is showking difference between CITY DISPLAY & actual filling. And there is lite difference in both values which is less then 1 only. 201KM traveled in 10.81 litters. 19.0avg was on display and 18.59 avg actually calculated...

Now have a look at my recent travel log. 178km total driven and display is at 20.4 avg. And 2nd pic was taken after traveling 130km distance. Avg showing 21.5...

One more thing to add once again for all fellows, display of Avg on car is accurate but it always Hit due to "Haramzadgi" of fuel pumps. You can chk it by traveling 100KM with neck to neck filling and take fuel from different filling stations. You will get always different actual milage...

Now have a look at my travel summry calculated through navigation system. Attaching 2 different logs. One is rash driving (Brighter pic) and 2nd one is normal drive with max speed 90 approx... (More fuel efficient)

You will see that there is not much difference in travel time, only 15 to 20 minutes but huge difference in fuel consumption

The only formula to get extra efficency from you car is to drive at Max 80 of speed and have 20%-25% extra efficency with 5% extra time only...

You shouldn't. On board mileage calculator has lots of variations.
Always calculate using tank to tank method.

Exactly lot of variations but due to theft in filling scales by filling stations and it will vary station to station.

At 80 KPH covering Lhr-isb Motorway (approx 360 KM) takes 4.5 hrs Average 19-20 KPH
At 120KPH it will take 3 Hrs theoratically Avg 16-17 KPH

That means 33.3% (1/3) more time required , while economy difference will be 10-15%

True... you are right for motorways.. as far as GT road js concerned, formula works.... and on mororway, go at 100 +/- at max. It will be fuel efficient as well as you can have time management...

Tank to tank gives 13.5 with ac in city...max 15.5kmpl on motorway manual aspire 1.3 and i drive like corolla owners drive..so mileage does feel very good:)

I think you are experiencing too much idle time. I am having aspire 1.3 I go everyday pindi to blue area and gets 12 or 11 avg and on high way I am getting 17 with ac and 2 persons in car with me.

I have Honda Aspire 1.5 Manual, 33k Drive..! My car has average of 10-11/L in city and 13-14/L on long drive!!!!

Use Havolin 5-30 Oil you will see 2 KM/L improved average..!

neva use PSO. . .use shell, attock or total. . .try atleast once hi-octane of total oils. . .use AC at 2 or 3 its enuff. . .plus reserve light is on at 7.9L so u should have to refill 32.1 L to 42L full up. . .accelerate hard to reach 40 kmph in local or 60 kmph on highway and then soft footed and try constant accelerating !

HOW TO RE-LEARN THE IDLE (Reset the ECU) Honda City (2009 to 2017):

Step-1: Remove the battery negative terminal for more than 10 seconds. Preferably wait for about 10 minutes before re-tightening the battery negative terminal.

Step-2: Start your car and warm up till you can hear radiator fan turning on it might take 2 to 10 minutes. (Do not use any electrical accessory (AC, Power Windows, Radio).

Step-3: Turn off the car remove the key and restart it again. Turn on the car again and stable the RPM at exactly 2000 for 10 seconds and turn off the car and remove the key.

Step-4: Finally restart the engine to verify the idle speed at 800 RPM, Now ECU/Engine idle is reset to its default settings.
