well, there IS a temprature guage in city idsi.but it doesnt show up when its not needed.
when the engine is cold, like in the morning, a light blue light glows inside ur instrument cluster, after a while when the engine reaches operating temprature, this light goes off.
If the car overheats, another light,red, shows up in the cluster. in 200,000kms of life, my car never showed the red light...

For last two days I am experiencing a strange problem with my friends city its idsi 2005 on CNG. As my friend is not into repairing so it came upon me to repair his car so I took it to my mechanic. I would like to tell you that my friend is also my neighbour and once or twice a week I get to drive his car, to me its perfect. Now let me tell you how it all began. On this Sunday his car was out of gas so he had to start it on petrol, as soon as he did that the car started to phuk phuk like its missing, he drove the car in same condition to his college to take a class on his return he refilled the gas and converted to CNG the car behaved absolutely fine. So now the problem is that the car is as smooth as butter on CNG but pathetic on petrol continuous misfirring. The things done by my mechanic in last 2 days are as follows[LIST=1]
[*]Checked the injectors and they are working fine
[*]Checked fuel pump and filter also fine
[*]Checked plugs also fine
[*]Checked tappets also fine
[*]Checked all Coils also fine although he did check them by a tester system not the resistance of each coil but the problem did not solve as he changed the coils
[*]He disconnected CNG kit but problem not resolved
[/LIST]After all of the above the problem has almost halved 2 days ago it was pathetic although its still pathetic. My mechanic said that run your car on highway at high rpms for 20-30 kms the problem will disappear I did that felt only a slight difference but still it misses. Now I think that mixing about 10 litres of high octane will solve the problem. The other thing he said and that really pissed me off that he will open the entire head and check fuel lines because according to him one cylinder does not work on petrol now that sounds really funny because today i stretched the car till 100 km/hr on petrol on 3rd gear and it was ready for more the engine revs easily till 5000 rpms and more but with phuk phuk. Now if one cylinder is not working how can an engine rev at 5000rpm while its as smooth as you like it on CNG. Second last time he drove the car was a month ago and that too more than 100kms on highway. Please help me as my friend is really worried we are class fellows and currently he has to take lift from me if CNG finishes

in my opinion the problem could be in fuel system i.e fuel pump,filter or injector as neither are used in cng operation. The common things of both cng and petrol are working fine.

This lil diy exp make sure the map sensor is working or nt.
one thing u can do is remove the map sensor(its close to throttle wire) ur self from intake top, only one bolt, cover the hole of intake(u may use finger/palm, make sure u dont drop any thing in it) and start it on petrol. if the symptoms u stated in post are different that map should be ok. otherwise map is not working.
check above on cng as well , but cng may or may not give accurate idea ,depending upon if map is connected to cng emulator or not, but do check.

ok bro.. I'll take my car to honda islamabad... and pl let meknow whenever u get some info abt those dirty vents... I talked to mechanic abt them but he said that he would have to open the dash completely,of course, to which i did not consent to...

I did try cleaning them with cotton swobs/buds... it worked good forme although... grills are clean but the dust beyond them still can be seen...

the difference between my size and the stock size was merely 4%. do u think that can be much of a problem?

Brother 4% is toooo much! anything above 3% or even near that is not recommended! the size that i told u brings the difference down to 0.20% if im not wrong...
n oh, ur car looks very very clean mashallah... cant see any scratches etc on the surface... n mileage... ur car is the second most driven car in this thread... mine is 207000kms driven now

bro theres no way to open the wents! my car's vents are also need cleaning... i ve tried to clean it with different sort of brushes but it didnt work. now im considering to spray WD40 into the vents.i ve never used WD40 before so i dont know if it should be done or not.i ll contact the best detailing guy on pakwheels for asking this one, will let u know.

As for the mileage of ur car, i ve written a detailed reply above.i think u didnt read it. if the Honda 3S dealers' mechanics are experts, take ur car to them otherwise go to some well reputed mechanic.

I wont suggest u getting 17 inch rims... stock is 15, dont go for anything more then 16inches.... even thats not needed. 17 inch rims n tires will harm the suspension, ride will be very hard and fuel economy will be worse!
Still,if u want to go for 17 inches, 195.45.r17 is the size u shud be looking for... 205 is too much!

Yeh meray liay hai I presume.....janab koi Wd40 nai marna kahin par....ammi ya behen (aaap ki shadi nahin hui warna biwi bhi dal deta is list mai) say chand lamhay baisti karani paray gi buss.....when they arent in the house, get into their make-up stuff an find a mascara brush like the ones pictured below

and use them to get between the air vent fins an clean yer ducts......you can use a presoak solution or any other detergent solution you can make.........afterwards dip the brush in dashboard polish an run it through the vents and over the areas where you did cleaning to prevent solution stains........an I`ll remain quiet about the rims for the city............ 225, 40 R18.......was I thinking outloud??

Thanks bro... thanks alot.... i think I should probably go for 195/60/R16 then... this is the genuine tyre size on indian city... its difference is abt 1%...

as for my 04, she has been drive alot but i keep good care of her... thats why u can see that the lights and the body shine, not like genuine, but look 95% new...

can u show me some pics of ur idsi???

and the post of another bro on our air vents is useful... i'll try... will search for a similar brush in the market cz i m far away frm having a biwi...:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

There are few scratches on the left side doors (front n rear) & on the bumpers too (front and rear) i want them to get painted but a lot of people adviced me not to do so because it will reduce the resale value of car. Im confused! what should i do ? Keep the car as it is in current condition or just get it repainted ?

I knew it! I knew it... that usman bhai must ve invented or discovered some sort of brushes for cleaning the vents i wud prefer buying them rather then borrowing them , lakin agar mere room mai say ye daryaaft ho gae tou buht masla hoga... sab puchain *** bata kis k liay liay thay hehehe

well... usman bhai whats the purpose of WD40... isnt it a water based solution? harmless for paint or polishes surfaces and takes down the dirt... is that right? if so... why cant i use it in the vents? it wud be much easier!!! shed some light please...

im amazed to see the condition of ur car even after that much mileage! i wonder how u kept it away from stupid people/drivers who put scratches on others' cars because of their own stuuuupid mistakes! pix of my car are uploaded a few pages back... u can find em there...

Sorry.. Here are the pictures..

get the bumper painted. people usually dont include the bumpers when they say that a car is totally original... theres only one scratch on the door so i would say leave it this way for now... though u can get it painted if u want to, wont really put a huge dent on the resale value of the car.

a painted door sill is not a good idea... live with it i would say! if its painted and a potential buyer finds it out, he would say that this side is accidented hence the door sill is painted... another thing is that all the 4 door sills will require paint if im not wrong... it wont be wise to paint em... just my 2 cents... let the (vauge_one) get back to answer ur question... hes the one who takes care of paint/detail etc related queries

Got the rear four coils changed today and a sensor i think tp sensor i am not sure i have forgot the name. Well it costed me 2000 for the sensor and 8000 for the coils. They are in pristine condition both of these things. I'll post the pictures of both of the things.. And the car was really misbehaving before the tuneup. Was giving jerks and the check lights was constantly on now it wont appear.

WD40, i would say its a magic thing, i think its like thinner, may of refined petrol etc.
Its mainly use to open some very rusty nuts, rusty locks etc etc, that would not open in anyway. For paint it can damage the surface. if ur home doors do cho cho, u can put it in there.

But i had some very bad experience with it as well. As it penetrates deep, so it can damage the rubber seal
