1. crappy engine
2. over priced
3. nothing being offered in the price
4. terrible brakes and suspension

if any car is good in technology and drive then it is bound to fail over here

aoa, som1 plz tel me about the spares parts of city,how mmuch xpensive they r if compared with civic,in fact m most interested in getting city 02 of 5 or 525 and 155k driven in gd condition,i ve made up my mind on it but one of my friend s told me that city parts r equally xpensive like city ,what do u say plz?

Sir i guess city(00-03) parts r not much expensive as i have one.
1 - honda air filter=rs 220.
2 - oil filter=rs 150-175
3 - Oil 3.5 litre (price depends on which brand u go for)
4 - Coolant i think it's 4-5 litres..dont know the exact quantity as i didn't checked it.
5 - brake light bulb=rs 100
6 - timming belt=rs 650
7 - timming bearing=rs 650
8 - head gaskit=rs 1350
9 - timming belt cover=rs 1000
10 - generator belt=rs 350
11 - AC belt=rs 300
Above are the things which i have recently got changed.As for body parts i didn't had any experiance yet (Alhamdulillah..:)..)
So i guess the regular maintance parts r not expensive then cultus or santro.

bro dont know about civic but the city 2003 and beyond model requires the least maintenance as proven by many owners who have driven the car 50,000+

front brake pads Rs 1300
timing belt Rs 700
timing bearing Rs 750
I think among 1.3 lit city is not very expensive.The parts are easily available.

Looks like Honda is going to launch a cosmetic upgrade soon this year - Honday Malaysis Sdn Bhd already did so..

Updates include front grill change, side mirror turn lights, glass antenna.

bro go fot it i wud say.parts are not at all pricy now.they were though,several years ago.But Honda atlas decreased the prices to increase sales in about 2001 and frm then,u can see many hondas above that models.parts are now at very reasonable prices.

front/rear bumper 4500
air filter 590
oil filter 165
geniun honda oil(not a part but maintanance) 765(exaxt quantity pack 3.7L)
headlight 3200
clutch plate 3800-4000(for cultus its 5000)
front discs 1700

i think these prices are very reasonable for a car having this technology.and prices ofr 01-03 models are even low.

so go for it eyes closed(Y)

thanx bro...i put alot of effort in this thread as begainner.still,i can see many of the points and facts are missing.but now its time for u bros to contribute to this thread.i,too wud b here to make it more and more informative.yeah new city wud b sumwhere near the civic but its true that we cant expect it any earlier than end of 2009.still there are no news frm honda thiland about a city being built or not..so lets wait nd expect the best(Y)

lol...u were an opponent..?? y.?? nd how did u changed ur mind..?? now every one knows ur a gr8 fan of this car.actually it really is an excellent car.many of my friends were saying that i wud regret alot if i buy city.but when i had it in my hands,and offered my frineds to check it out drive etc they were really impressed(all of em were rolla fans) but did not praised just said han theek hy sahi hy.but now,after a year.they all enjoy riding my car specially the back seat:D

are they china or sum better quality.for how long are u using them and are they getting dirty/black or foggy or not..?? one more thing.i hav cng in my car.so where do i put the switch of these lights if i get them...??

bro u are more than welcome to share the name. Bro like i mentioned that i was an opponent till i get to ride the car and also analyzing what it is offering.

my billo is indeed great, not many cars can give you both performance and economy at the same time.

7 speed mode is simly amazing, totally feels like manual.

also i pasted a link earlier in which there will be a 1.3 i -vtect engine producing 100ps!!! (probably more than any other 1.3 stock car out there - non turbo ofcourse)!!!

and the new i-vtec 1.5 will produce 120ps!!!

i had been to layyah for 3 days and had sum good and very very bad experiences with my beloved car too:(

good was that it gave me avg of exact 198 kms in a cylinder of cng.i got cng filler from layyah and came to jhang and still there was a bit of cng left in it.
another good point was that,if any one has been to layyah he/she knows that its all sandy there.80% of earth is sand and rest is soil.i did alot of offroading to get to our agricultural land and there are many small dunes type things of sand which i crossed on my car.so it was nice see that my car did not let me down.the sand there is such idiotic that it tends to get grip of tyre and burry the tyres down into itself.but i did not had any problem

and now,the bad,worse and the worst happened to my car(though it was my own fault not car)
there a dead strieght road passing through a desert.its a very nice road and there is literally no traffic on that road.i was doing about 125km/h there.my dad was along wid me.i saw a brick laying in the middle of the road.as the road is not so wide i decided to drive over the brick and so i did.then again another brick came i did the same.i was wondering where the hell these bricks were coming from.
then again i saw a brick,decided to do the same thing.but what i didnt saw was that it was not LYING,it was standing horizontally.but i never knew that.even worst,when i reached that point,there were suddenly few bumps in the road which made the car go up nd down....there i was,the brick strike the oil chamber of my beloved car as hard as it can and suddenly there was a huge bang and all the oil was drained in few seconds.the brick aclso damaged the bumper badly.

i stopped immediately and saw that its undrive-able now.got a very very nice scolding frm dad(as i shud have).

and there we were,in the middle of a desert.37kms behind us and 25kms ahead us.there were no signs of any town or village.
then we called my dad's friends.they sent a taxi nd then we towed the car to a small qasba(thanx GOD there was one after 3kms).parked the car thee for night,next day got the chamber oppened as silver welded as there was no choice other than this.either get it welded,or tow it 300kms to multan.

now today i wud go to honda sgd and ask them to get me a new chamber.
ohhhhh......that was a really bad experience...!!

bro how does the 7 speed mode works..?? does it changes gears it self if u drivew at high rmps or not...???

secondly,im reading the article and its gr8 to hav a newly designed engine.honda engineers are never free,they are always working to keep the brand up to date with the latest technology.
in this idsi L12 city,the only disadvantage was the underpowerness.if that goes away,nothing comes near to city then.it wud rock the roads with its superb performace and economy in a family car. it wud b 100% balanced.
now i hope that its soon launched here in Pakistan(Y)

another bad experice was that on our way back,a huge 22 wheeler was ahead of me.it was the same road.and its not too wide.i had been driving behind it for the past 10 mins.then i slowed down abit,let that huge idiot thing go far off my car,then accelerated from a long distance reached 120km/h to overtake the truck as fast as i can,but as i reached it,the ba___rd turned to right forcing me to brake hard i was just beside his huge tyres.i could'nt stop at that speed so turned the car to right and went off the road strieght into a sand dune at about 80kmh.the bumper hit the sand hard as was dably deshape and damaged frm bottom.the sheet underneath the engine also got damaged.i was so much furious at the truck wala i wanted to kill him.
this was the worst trip i hav ever had on my car...and yeah,got scolded frm dad again:D
now all i need is a new chamber,new bumper,engine sheet and a big bigger biggest NAZAR WATTO i can get:)

yaar 7 speed mode is unique to steermatic in this price range, you have a series of 7 virtual gears (buttons on the steering) by which you can up and down shift your car just like a manual..

that is the great advantage of steermatic, full auto + manual mode.

dude the gear will stay till the rpm reaches red zone and then it will shift to the next - its lotsa fun but u gotta get used to it a little bit....
