NEED HELP
Bro i bought 2006 vario 1 month ago and its also on petrol i m getting same average....10-11km/litre in city Islamabad and moterway 12.5km/l when i keep it under 2000 rmp without A/c......i m also very disappointed with its average.... i got tune my car from honda i-10 including air filter replaced by honda original parts tappet adjusted and thorrtle cleanup after tuning diagnostic with computer software result was car is normal but still on same position.....plz share ur vario averages plz

how much is ur car driven? if anything more then 40,000kms then it might need a new fuel pump and fuel filter. do u feel reduced acceleration sometimes? what tire size u have and how much psi u maintain in them?

the fuel economy of automatics in general not good if compared to manual but 10-11km/ltr in local driving is still not up to the mark...

-My ivtec city is usually garaged all the time. I take it out for a few km drive after a week or so. But regularly start it up and keep its tank topped up.

A person recently scared me that if a car is garaged for too long and is driven very less, its tyres eventually become de shaped...

I am confused. Does garaging a car mean I'll have to qurbaan my 48 k worth of yokohamas??

Btw today, I saw a JDm honda fit aria at a tyre shop in mianwali... The guy seemed to be really an educated person who knew the worth of the car he had. he said he preferred this car over Gli, probox, corolla x and 7th gen civic.

He said he was proud of his decision and would advise any day anytime to go for this car.

It had Abs, in dash sat nav, 7 speed gear mode, 1.5L vtec, remote trunk opener, immobilizer, sort of shock absorbers like mehran under the hood to lift it up, 15" low profile tyres, climate controlled AC, map lights, optitron speedo, foot rest, and what not what not... (H)

I was hell more surprised when he said that he got it for Rs 1230k including VIP islamabad registration... :o ufff!!! :o ufff!!!

And our Pakistani qaoum will always buy a probox and Xli which are pieces of sh*t compared to that beauty...

Can anyone give me a price estimate for Honda City's (2010) Brake pads? The brake pads seem to be nearing their end or so the brake oil level suggests.

Secondly I would really appreciate if someone could shed some light on 'tooling' of the discs. My brakes seem to be gripping fine, however I was inspecting the the front discs the other day, and felt a slight uneven line as I was sliding my finger across the disc. Should I be worried about this?

So what should I do? Take the car to Honda Classic or source out the parts and labor from somewhere else?

One more thing, I will be going for my first oil change in a week, which oil do you guys suggest I use?

finally, made a copy of hook(used for towing) got the original one from sheikh_wah (JAZAKALLAH) , upward (top one)is the genuine and downward (bottom one)is the local copy, but local one is more solid than original one.....

for reference the chori (spacing is exactly 1.75mm) if anyone wants to have a copy made for himself ..........any guesses how much it should cost me ?

1. Brake pads range from 800 PKR -- 4000 PKR depending upon the quality
2. If u r not getting any jerks on braking above 70km, there is still no need for discs to be tolled yet
3. Well if car model is 2010, its engine oil have been changed by the previous owner, do consult with him and avoid unnecessary engine oil brand change, as it will ruin the engine.

For the last some days i am feeling the undue resistance in the gear changing especially moving from 3rd gear to 2nd gear, thought there might be issue with the gear oil, completely drained the old gear oil and fill new one like 2 weeks ago, pressure plate is only 5000km old, seems no apparent reason for this.......... What could be the possible cause ???

as suggested by ahmad, replace ur fuel filter +fuel pump (if mileage is 40000+), btw r u facing

1. the problem of delayed starting(indication of bad fuel pump)
2. knocking issue in idling
3. sudden drops in rpm
4. how about the air pressure in the tyres with the modern radial tyres there is one issue that even if they have a little puncture, ppl r unable to detect and keep on driving but it hurts the fuel and affects economy
5. which petrol u r using and from which pump?

share these things and then we can pinpoint the exact cause contributing for such bad average

I also got a 2006 Vario, have no idea about city driving average but on highway it gives me 15+ KM/L on Petrol and 16+ KM/L if HIgh Octane is mixed in ration 1:3. your given average of 12.5 KM/L is not satisfactory, I think u should consider the suggestions given by some experienced and expert members of our group :). There is absolutely no issue with tyres if air pressure is ok and car is being used just few KMs in a week. Dont worry and have no tension

well well well, tire deshape... hmmm... sounds plausible but not very easily... if u drive it even a few kms after day or two, they wud be fine... but if the car is parked for weeks n weeks then the tires can get deshaped... thats what i think... may be im wrong...

and yaarr...i also saw a fit aria in sargodha, it was in light golden color. it had all the features that u have mentioned and i was also amazed because that was the first time i got to know that. and for 1230k, the car is definately worth it... good condition later model idsis are being sold for above 11, so at 1230k a JDM city is well worth money paid... but yeah our ppl are only buying jdm alto or toyota pro-dabba these days

Do NOT get the brake rotors tooled ... u dont need to do anything unless there is an issue or u feel vibrations in the steering/brake pedal when u press the brake...
for oil, get Havoline formula engine oil... 10w30... best oil for newer cars... brand new brake pads OEM Honda are for 5500rs i guess...

Mashallah Mashallah... very nice shine... the camera couldnt really pick them up properly but i can easily see the grains inside the paint.. and if they are visible, means the car is shiny
i waxed my car today, too... but it was getting dark so didnt take any pix...
