I dont think that Honda city aspire is the price the additional price of 100,000+. They are only adding show, shaw items like idcators on side mirrors, navigation, alloys etc. But there are more important things than that and those needed to be given priority when you are giving an upgrade model.

1 Immobilizer as its the need of hour and even theives claim that they cant easily pick cars with immobilizer

2 Cruise control as its available in other countries

3 As the corrolla is single manufacturer selling 1600cc cars, why not introduce a 1500cc engine which is better than the toyotas 1600cc engine and increase market share.

But sadly here in pakistan we are getting an upgraded model and in the upgrades we got all the things that can be removed in a second to make car look like simple. Just assume that after 5 years of use if the owner has to change alloys, seat covers etc than he will have to tell everyone by his mouth that he got a city aspire. Whereas upgrades such as immobilizers, engine upgrade, cruise control remain in the car for ever

The cost Honda are charging for additional features with warranties is a fine deal. I knew about aspire few months back, even got to see its cost excel sheet before launching it as few of my friends are in Honda.

Honda wanted to acquire some market in a short way like most of our automobile companies do by adding these things as a package under warranty which may also under the name tag will have good re-sale compared to aftermarket things.

These OEM things will be charged higher by Honda if some one will want them later in simple city or even if one want optional things out of the package.

They could have introduced something better under 120 k instead of all that package or introducing face-lift even, which is a question mark for a long time after the introduction of aspire. Much awaited civic face-lift probably will be in September.

Honda did raise some standard by introducing aspire. We Pakistanis do criticize a lot in good way and bad way all the time. I personally liked gli but didnt have much budget for Gli. Used GLI i could not buy due to many reasons. Separate discussion. I did not like Xli. So went for new city. I will keep my car for many years inshallah. Now if we see 1300 cc xli or gli, what they are offering to us in 1.5 million and 1.7 million budget. There are many flaws in them as well.

Now why our automobile companies are like this. Its not only because of those automobile companies. its because of infinite things all linked to each other. Government itself, Electricity to Industries, Fuel used in industries, No gas, Oil is expensive for production, No alternate fuels or compensatory policies by government to industries, extra taxes, No genuine parameters and safety parameters set for automobile industries to produce specific cars by pak government especially to put a grip, Labor working in the company,Cash flow of the industry etc.

My point was that its not that honda are giving these things in 120,000 and it seems fair enough. My point was that do we people really need these things as value addition special package or are these things superior than the basic security features such as immobilizer and a powerful engine. I can bet on the fact that no one will drive his honda city aspire with these 120,000 goodies without getting tracker,insurance,alarm etc. And even there are some cars that are on stock rims and stock player, speakers and even stock seat covers but expensive insurance policies, tracker, and alarm systems.

My point was that we people need the basic standard security features more than alloy rims and navigation system. Although I acknowledge that honda has ABS, EBD but they should be bringing in more standard features according to our local environment.

And the talk about XLI,GLI well I can only say one thing that the entire toyota company is being run by 2 peoples

1 Government departments lavisly spending on purchase of new cars every 3 years

2 Rural people which are more than 60% of our population. They are even in such mindframe that if you go to them and offer and brandnew honda civic/city and on the other hand a 10 year old toyota corrolla they will prefer corolla anyday even if it gets expensive than new honda.

Such high demand of these cars has increased the market prices which in turn forces some of our business minded to buy and invest in a corolla without even thinking that resale might not save a life.

The time has come where people have to stop thinking about brands and buy things that defy there prices.

Half tank gone with the injector cleaner, had some trouble with the check coming on, odb scan showed o2 sensor ki mat wajji hui hai.....but Im not touching anything till this tank is over, had stretch of canal from Jallo to Thokar at my disposal early mornin, an did some throttle smashing in the quest to see if the injectors could get some asskersize....after a very long time was able to redline in 4th gear, trust me, its not a sane thing to do.....you see back in "nadaan" era of life I used to be infamous for abusing engines an suspension parts.....but lately Ive been hypermiling like anything......an this canal blast really woke up the "keera" within......man you outta have seen my grin from ear to ear when the 4th hit red......anyway when I got home and had a look at the tail pipe, alotttta carbon had come out, even had some traces on the rear bumper.....checklight ko bhi aram hai since then, though now plan on a M2 excursion to finish off the rest of the fuel full tharatal ishtile! Sakoon nai anda! Ki kerye? Engine really must be counting its sins on this school of thought! One very big diff I have noticed is the engine is darn quieter.

One important observation on which i have been working lately.....

The reserve light in i-DSI comes after consuming nearly 31.5 lit(im sure about this because once my reserve light lit up and i was in front of my fav. TOTAL pump so i went there and refuelled and total fuel was 31.5lit)
and then i myself drove once on reserve light starting from LALAMUSA to TAXILA (nearly 160+km with 4 ppl on board except me and 50kg weight in trunk and at that time fuel refilled was 43 litre). Now, my finding are as under:

1) Total fuel tank capacity = 31.5 litre+ 12.5 litre+ 2-3 litre in pipe from fuel lid to fuel tank (since in i-DSI fuel tank is under the gear lever between the driving and front pessenger seat, so from the fuel lid to fuel tank the pipe length should atleast consume 2-3 litre if not more)

2) So total capacity = 46 litre
3) 3 days ago, i drove on reserve about 105km and then i refuelled and fuel filled was 36.7 litre, so in my view u can easily drive for 170+km on reserve capacity depending upon car's average mileage....
4) I am considering next time to drive 170+km on reserve and keep a bottle of 3-4 litre spare fuel with me, then i can post the exact fuel mileage on reserve and reserve capacity
5) At present, i feel reserve capacity including the pipe= 14 litres app.

bhai if u have money y waste it,you can many more features in the same price as you are going to pay to honda. i booked honda city with nav but go it cancelled, i mean y pay 50k to hnda for the same stuff if availaible in 25k, as for the rims honda offers well 80k for rims no bro, i would rather buy the rims of my own choice, and not tht chinese stuff, for 50k, and i thnk they would be better than honda oem rims. , the onlyyyyy thing i liked in Aspire was the turning lamp, was looking good in white
so here is what price honda offers and at what u can have it from market
1. Nav--- honda 50k, market 25k (from metro)
2. Alloys ---Honda 80k, market 25- 50 K (depends what size u want and japanese definately)
3. turning lamps honda 16 k, market, well have to check
4. leather interior, wel i saw it today and it has no match with the one honda offers in Civic, its not leather its leatherite actually, the balck one with red stiching,......
overall, not worth paying so much for a simple city with just cosmetic changes, yes if it would have been 4 wheel abs and dual air bag wirh same price, wow y not go for it man

I made my choice and inshallah will not regret it. One can keep going on increasing the money and buy the more costly car with more features. But one has to stop at some point. Similarly why not you buy honda accord or toyota camry or bmw etc etc by getting more big engine with more features. Doesnt make any sense right!

One cannot please everybody so it is better to make your own choice. People pay alot for many after market things
The package they are offering is still worth it for me and i intend to keep car for longer time inshallah. And the aftermarket things you are talking about has million issues. Technically and economically

Have been here after long time. Just was busy in office life.
@ Ahmad buddy what abt ur ACCA ??
What is new for the City Aspire ??
It is gonna be on roads on 05-05-2012.
The added features are:-
1. Indicator light on side mirrors.
2. Alloy Rims.
3. Leather seat covers.
4. Rear speakers.
5. Navigation system.
6. Rear view camera.

Price difference is 120,000/-
