@fahad reloaded.. me needs some help understanding the oil gradings.. you've recently done the research.. can u guide me wat the oil gradings mean?
5w-40 means wat?

i also need to know what EXACTLY those grades mean... specially the API SM SL etc part...

have any of u guys tried Petromin Ultra 7 ?

yap i ve tried it
its better than caltex n other local engine oils
but now its discontinued in lhr so shifted to Caltex again
Engine noise reduces to some extend pick and milage increases too
do flush it first if u using any synthetic oil
or reduce milage on its ist change.

oki.. and about the grading.. if u had searched it'd have taken u two mins to type wat i am typing right now.. the digit before W is the viscosity of oil at cold temperatures (like morning start-up).. and the digit after W is the viscosity once the engine warms up.. no big deal about it.. now bigger the numbers the thicker the oil.. if u had done any research u'd have known the 40 viscosity grade is not needed for city etc.. our local cars require viscosity up to 30 as standard.. 40 is not good for them as its thicker..

and further... the response u mentioned of ur engine is not the response any engine would give on usage of any brand oil.. hardlllllly happens even if u use engine oil built for diesel engines on a petrol engine.. it never happens so that the moment u pour the oil in and car slums down.. something else must've gone wrong.. the oil must not be original or anything.. by all means wat u said is not possible.. talking logic here..

I wanted to ask some thing. When the reserve light is on in city 2005 where the petrol needle is. Is it at the bottom most position or slightly above it when reserve shows

Indeed very beautiful! No one can say thats a 200k kms plus driven car! The headlights are very bright and clear, mine are not may be 6 yrs of rain, dust, sunlight n all other sort of things have taken away their beauty... anyways, i ll get em restored after my exams... Good job ROBM
