Hi All,
Well here's a new question I would like to ask the new city owners. Does anyone get the feel of a confused steering at high speeds. e.g you are driving down a straight bumpless road at about 100~110 and you feel the need to continuously maneuver the steering to get it in straight line???

You must be thinking Alignment or Camber issue here. The car must be moving towards one end. But that's not what I am asking.

Its going both ways. You see its going slight rightish, so you counter to the left and it goes straight. the next second, it starts going to left and again you counter steer to the right. Keeps on doing it for the rest of the journey. In other words, its not self centring.

Anybody else felt that??

get ur inner axle godda (known as Kuppa in desi) checked. They r responsible for keeping car straight. Secondly get ur tyres and steering wheel checked.

I guess my teche guy was not that teche or he deliberatily hid that part from me that one can fit 6 connection hoses instead of 3 , so did wat he suggested and changed the whole damn thing cost me 22K . But i guess u have to put in some money when u buy a new car em happy it wasnt like 50k or something much higher

Why dont you procure the relay from honda pakistan ask 3 s dealers and if they dont have it than contact honda factory and get it changed from them

At last things are settling back to normal

Finally, things are settling down and back to normal. This tank drive includes 4 ppl on board and AC on full throttle for more than 80%. The average kmpl is settling down and i hope by the end of next tank i will be able to get my usual economy as well. InshAllah:)

Distance Covered = 603.1 km
Fuel Refilled= 3600 PKR (34.68 lit)
Avg kmpl=17.390 kmpl (AC was ON full throttle)
Cost/km=5.96 PKR

I think thats the job of toe, caster and camber. But all these make car go in certain direction (either right or left), mine wants to go both ways. Possibly the hardened EPS at high speed is not allowing self correction

very little possibly not more than 2 min of continuous drive above 90 since i travel in peak hours so it is rarity to get 90+ more than 1-2 km continuously...

I think thats the job of toe, caster and camber. But all these make car go in certain direction (either right or left), mine wants to go both ways. Possibly the hardened EPS at high speed is not allowing self correction

do u know toe, caster and camber physically include which parts...actually these r logical angles which depend upon physical parts including axle, ball joint, cvt joint, arm brushing, chimta, wheel bearing etc etc. So unless any one of these go out of sync there lies a problem

Its your McPherson to shock joint, rack ends and control arms at the play. Anyways, any more suggestions by fellow members??

did u checked the tyres @ front r straight . I remember 2 yrs ago i was facing some resembling issue like urs and at last found out tyres are gone out of shape so the car doesnt move straight on road. This can be checked by swapping rear front tyres . But if tyres r the cause u must seems car has been dragging very rapidly to either side.

btw/ THis is my first post though ihave been reading posts for a long time.

hmmm... well bhai, get the following things done to ur car:

-fuel filter change
-engine flush
-fuel injector cleaner
-switch ur engine oil to Havoline formula or Honda genuine...

Hopefully, mileage will improve.

well bro, I have city 2012 with me and it NEVER did such a thing, even at speeds exceeding 120kph.

I have merely a thumb resting on the steering wheel while driving it.

Well, a problem such as urs can be caused by a small issue like uneven tyre pressure to major issues like deshaped chimtas due to a very hard jump etc...

as u have mentioned ur problem, I would also suggest like fahad bhai did, get your chimtaas examined by a mech.

as far as I remember, u told us sometime back that u got new rubber for ur car, right? In that case, I am presuming there is no issue like tyre deshaping etc...

Well the left wheel camber is negative at the moment. The rights Positive. The toe angle seems to be okay. Though the technician refused to adjust toe as it would have been a waste of money without camber work. I generally keep 30psi on all wheels

Oh well, guess i have to get the shocks out for camber adjustment feasibility. Anyone knows an alternative to this conventional procedure??? Like strut mounted camber plates or something???

its not a bad average for Vario, I myself own 2006 Vario, 80K milage all on petrol and get an average of 15 Km/L when driving on my routine path i.e. between Wah and Isb (mostly on GT road and sometime on Motorway). When driving mostly in Wah (with AC on) average reduces to 14 or even less.
If u find a way to improve milage, do let me know as well

I also felt same in my old Daewoo Racer car few weeks ago, I got it checked by my mechanic, he was calling this situation 'Gari terti (swim) hai' and I realized it was the same situation I was feeling. Anyhow I had to change the Chimta (lower Arm) bush of vehicle to fix the problem. I don't know how much relevant is this situation with urs.
