I want to know about gear changing SPEED & RPM in Honda City Auto (2005-2008) & Honda City Auto (2009-2011) which is set by the Manufacturer in D Auto gear.
I am planing to buy a Honda City 2008 or 2009, but confused Auto or Manual to buy. I heard about that the gear change in Auto on Higher RPM compare to Manual one. Which cause to less fuel efficient in Auto.

Sir there is no fixed RPM at which the automatic cars shift their gears. if u press the race pedal very hard, the rpm will shoot upto the red line before shifting to next gear but if u are driving it lightly, then it will shift at a much lower rpm but yes, if driven is the same manner, manual cars give better fuel economy.

ahmad bhai, we have dusty envoirnment and specialy matining dark colour cars realy difficult
will give u 2 options for cleaning car without wash

1) pat and dab method
DAB method...Dampened a side with the detailer and dabbed a panel, turned sides sprayed detailer again on clean side and wiped. Turned to an inside side and wiped the moistness off the surface. ( i know for many of brothers here not easy this )

2) simply give her shower if car is properly waxed than simple water shower will also remove the dust

ahaaa... i see... thats quite a physically demanding job just for maintaining a clean surface, specially for a guy as lazy as me but then, the results are worth it

about changing the light bulbs, I don't recommend changing the wattage of the bulbs. Switching from 60/55 watts to 90 is not recommended at all. Instead go for better quality halogen bulbs like osram night breakers or Philips xtreme vision in h4. High wattage bulbs generate more heat and can easily damage the plastic lens of the lights. In case of better bulbs, wattage is the same but as the bulbs use a combination of halogen and xenon gases it produces more light on the road. I have preferred my Philips xtreme vision which would be arriving in the first week of next month inshAllah and then I would post comparative pictures

You are Totally Right sir! 90W is too much! Better is to buy High Quality Bulbs. H4 55/60W is the Best. As per my Choice I would not even go for some Chinese or Cheap Korean HID Kits..

To my knowledge city auto does not have fixed point at which gear changes as ahmed bhai said. Its equipped with CVT which means gears are changing at every instant. Thats why u will not feel any jerk wether u go from 0 to 120. or 120 to 0.

No bro, the New city does not comes with CVT transmission. only idsi vario and steermatic came with CVT tranny. the new city has a very simple AT and a prosmatec in case of aspire...

That is most definitely the best solution! no doubt the 90w WOULD put SOME extra strain on the electronic n the heat might also damage the lens. though my experience is otherwise but its still quite possible to get unlucky...

here are some videos that will explain to u what cvt is. u ll also find out what advantages CVT has over conventional automatic transmission in which gears are shifted normally but just an electric motor is used

the disadvantages are that as gear ratios are being changed all the time, some of the hp/torque is lost... and it is said that cvt is too sensitive and cannot be used for powerful cars.

Sir get the transmission oil changed, hopefully it will fix the issue. But remember, use ONLY original Honda CVTF (transmission oil) otherwise ur car might get even worse. after oil change, hopefully things will improve a lot....

for sure just send the car to Honda showroom for Transmission and Engine Oil engine let's see what happen after the change

Aoa Folks,
I just purchased Honda City 2012 (with navigation) and needed help. I hope this fanclub will assist. I apologize for asking a question that's asked before cuz there are 280 pages in this thread and its difficult to read everything at first. Ok here it goes

1-Suspension
After switching from Honda Civic 2002 and Gli, I found the suspension of Honda city quite hard / stiff. Will it get better with time or are there any ways to improve it? One good thing is that so far it doesnt hit speedbreakers from below unlike the previous cars I had.

2-Seat Cover ideas
I'm planning to get new seat covers stiched with black leatherite on side and grey cloth on the middle where we're used to sit. Any better ideas regarding that? If someone has pictures then can someone post them?

3-Warranty
I've heard if I install steelmate (or similar remote locking/unlocking system) it will void the warranty. Is it possible that I buy it and let Honda people install it. Will it void the warranty then?
