salamzzz all pw i m not the owner of city i m a big fan of this beauty i was buying brand new 0 mtr city but b/c of sum crises i hvnt i m now buying city 05 plzzz tell me something obt it and which main thing in the engine to check b/c i dont want to waste my father"s money

Well, city 05 is a really nice car.u dont need to worry about anything.as for how u can see if engine is in good condition or not, that is a bit hard for me to tell.

try to find a car with less milage, lesser then 1 lakh... the overall condition of the car will be telling the story about its engine.if the body is messed up, its a good sign that engine has also gone through the same...

find a car with less milage, clean engine, interior exterior etc... idsi engines are hard to see if they r in good condition or not (or may be i cant tell bcuz i havent seen a messed up idsi engine yet) but still, listen for engine noise, any extra noises u can hear? any visual clues of engine opened? any oil leaks ? etc...

Yes ur 02 city wont give u as much mileage as the newer citys give.the reason is that its engine is carburetted, not EFI.This means that an estimated quantity of fuel is poured into the cylinder head,so some of the fuel which enters the cylinder head gets out of the exhaust without being burned due to different reasons(reasons can be tuning,old plugs etc).

Your 2nd question regarding valves.Normal/hyper valves have nothing to do with 8 or 16 or any number of valves.Number of valves is a different thing. Hyper valve is the valve operating system used in your model of city ( 97-02 ) .This system increases the rate of opening and closing of valves,hence increasing the inhale and exhale quantity of gases, which translates into better performance. Do not confuse this with Vtec, vtec changes the rate of opening valves at different RPM ranges, Hyper valve is just speeding up of the valves at every RPM range an it is not adjustable.

03-09 City idsi had 8 valves to reduce the amount of air fuel mixture entering the engine ( which meant less performance) to enhance the fuel economy. This car was designed keeping in view the needs of a pure small family sedan.

you can find it easily in Lahore either from the Montgomery market or Upgrade in Gaddafi Stadium.

I had the following installed and painted for 50 K

individual prices are as follows:

Front and rear Bumper lips

The above for 22 K
Air press - 3K
Front Grille 9.5 K

Fog Lamps 2.8 K

paint costs another 10 K

Sir there is absolutely no problem with installing cng in city 2008.just get it done from an expert mechanic and ur car will never give you any problem.im running mine on cng for the past 4 yrs and no problem at all (mashallah).

but dont get 60kg cylinder, its tooo heavy.even 55kg is not what i wud want to put in a car.go for some light weight 55kg cylinder (remember, this 55kg isnt the actual weight of the cylinder, it has something to do with the volume or something) i ve heard that FABER cylinder are lighter then others.do not go for EKC cylinder, as recently there has been news that its not reliable. but i have it and if fine, no blasts until now

I once hit 160 and i think on 6k RPM not sure but with much effort on M1 petrol and totally stock ride. drove for 1 min and then came down.

the highest i have ever done on motorway on my city idsi on petrol is 167km/h.also did 155km/h with 3 ppl on board, with ac on cng.

tell me its better to change gear at high RPM or normal, as new city requirement to shift next gear around 3200 RPM to save fuel.

well, 3200 is good enough but if u want to squeeze out more fuel economy then shift at around 2500rpms, try it sometime n u ll see the fuel economy getting better. remember, fuel consumption depends on the engine speed mostly, i.e. RPM, the lower the RPMs, the more fuel economy u get...

search for "tyre size calculator" on google, u ll get a lot of help selecting tyre size from these sites. but i wont recommend you 17inch rimz, may be not even 16s. they put extra strain on the suspension and engine, causing wear and tear and reduced fuel economy... rest u have to decide...

Sir it has timing chain, u NEVER need to change it.it will last longer then the engine itself
