i had third generation city idsi grey.bought zer0 meter.drove 198o0okm.yet it was going strong.was very comfortable and i agree sir it really gave very very g0od milage.i expected honda ppl to continue that idsi engine in 20o9 fifth gen city but was disappointed.letme mention city third gen also has great economy on gas.in city 160km,long routes 200+kms...after owning this model i was compelled by its extraordianary alarming performance to change my signature to MAIN TE HONDA HE LAISAN!!!
now i am owner of fifth gen city habenaro red a/t .its go0d driven 50kkm.

recently em having problems wid my new city A/T...its kinda having jerks/missing when i accelerate half way...it feels lyk i leave the paddle and after a sec i press it again...i went 2 nazir autos in G-8 got it tuned bt nothing happend went again and he told me that there is a sort ov jaali near the engine and it maybe was choked...done 16000 km...so can anyone guide me what the problem is...

well, if the mileage of ur car wud ve been 40k plus kms i wud ve suggested u to get the ATF( auto tranny fluid) changed, but i dont think there shud be any problem at just 16k kms, well, get it checked frm honda guys n if the problem remainds, get the oil changed, who knows, may be due to some reasons its causing the problem.and yes there is a filter in the tranny near the engine but it shudnt choke so early.

how much is the difference in mileage for u man

i believe the new IVTEC Engine gives roughly the same mileage on Petrol if not more and it +25 more HP so its a very good improvement over iDSI

i dont know ANY mechanic in twin cities are i dont belong to them, but i ve heard honda centre on peshawar road has sum real expert mechanics. give them a try,but beware, they r costly.

Have a look at the air filter / air sensor, that worked for me.

You and me both, though I've got a manual and only 1700 KMS done thus far. I was thinking of going to get it tuned tomorrow morning - don't know what the problem is. It only seems to happen in 2nd gear and when I'm accelerating normally. If I push the car to the rev limit at around 6500 from first gear to second and so forth it doesn't act up, only under normal acceleration with the pedal about halfway.

I have Automatic City 2009, and really pissed with its mileage which is a mere 9.5km per liter in city. It is 35k Km driven and i am unable to get mileage mentioned by others i.e. 14-21 km per liter even with gentle ride. Can anyone of you provide some tips to get it improved by 3-4 kms per liter.

It could have something to do with the air sensor / air flow system - I had a look at mine and managed to get rid of the problem - nothing to do with faulty fuel pumps or anything of the sort. Make sure the filter is clean and that the sensor hasn't got any sort of corrosion on it.

I dropped my old Simota CAI from my previous car into the city and it seems to be doing quite nicely now.

well this problem started after 2 weeks ov installing the simota carbon charger..changed it yesterday to the original system and chked the sensor also bt no luck...
this thing is really pissing me off..

You have done 35000 kms and still getting 9.5 km/l. Thats very alarming for me as I too have City AT and am also getting around 9.5 to 10 Km/L. But I have done 1800 kms only and was thinking that it would improve with milage around 5000 or so.
Otherwise I like its acceleration and handling. Here are some pictures of my car :

city lover and owners of the new city 2010 one whts it like when comparing to a 2010 xli corolla iam thinking of either a corolla xli or a city manual last time i had a city was in 2005 and it wasnt tht powerfull rather dull and slow driven a friends 2008 city didnt like it either the new shape does look good in a way but wht iam really interested in so to have some decent overtaking power atleast and space in boot and rear seats!! xli lack abs which is wht deters me but it does seem spacious!!

Well i was indifferent between xli and city. finally i opted for City 2010. Rational for my decision was:

1. One cannot compromise on ABS. My friend has suffered badly lacking ABS in xli.
2. I dont want ke main 1400000 kharch karun aur phir sheeshay kholtay huwe CHAPPOO chalaun. Central locking bhi na ho. Power mirrors na hon. what the hell is this.
3. New shape of City (2010) is far better than the old City model. Had they not improved the shape, i would never have opted for City.
4. Didnt know exact numerical comparison but as far as room is concerned, City is no less than xli. look at the room in its boot. Although the length of city is less than xli but due to its small engine size, city has got enough room in cabin as well. So dont worry abt room as far as both city and xli are concerned.

Haan xli shape wise todi behtar hai (matter of personal choice) aur resale according to people is better.

Now the choice is yours.

Exactly! thats the point, city is much cheaper then xli n still provides everything an xli has, even more i wud say.congratulations on ur purchase brother, im sure u r gonna enjoy the car as long as u keep it.

ohh.. soryy sorry sorry... central locking isnt but power side view mirrors are... i was sure about ONE more feature in new xli compared to older and its power side view mirror with indicator light.
