Default Honda city iDsi 08 Engine oil reducing problem
I have this car since 9 months. Its engine never felt weak. Every time it gave me good fuel averge. On highways it gave me 17.5km/L to 20.5km/L with AC depending on driving style.
When I bought this car I checked engine oil condition and level. Condition was good and level lied between the two points. So I did not replace oil. After three months (car usage is very less) I replaced engine oil. I used Kixx 10-w40 and poured 3.75 ltr. The next day I checked oil level in cold condition and it was just below the upper point. After that I did not check oil level. In next four months the car ran almost 2500km and I thought to check oil quality because I cruised this car between 150km/h to 170km/h for about 70kms on motorway. So upon checking I came to know that its engine oil has been reduced about half ltr. It is an alarming issue for me because I never felt any blue smoke or any weekness in engine performance. Although the exhaust pipe is black from inside and not rusty like other petrol cars. I went to mechanic and inspected spark plugs. All plugs were in good health and in brown condition except their tips which were looking blacky. So the mechanic concluded that piston rings are weak.
Now I did an experiment. I replaced engine oil with Zic 20-w50 and mechanic poured 4 ltr in engine. The mechanic checked exhaust smoke on high rpm and it was little black. He told me that its normal. Anyhow I came back to home and at home I checked engine exhaust at high rpm. Now the car is exhausting blue smoke on high rpm i mean at 6000rpm
So guys I need your help. Is this because of weak piston rings? Or is this because I cruised it on high rpm on motorway? And why is this blue smoke while using 20-w50 while before that it did not exhaust blue smoke when using 10-w40. Somone told me that 20-w50 should not be filled in full quantity i.e. 4 ltr and it should be 3.5 ltr.
