20,000 service doesn't cost this much. You just need to change oil and/or filters etc like the regular 5K service.

Hello!
I have a Honda City 2006 MT and its Engine block got blown. Need help with a new engine choice.
I want to keep the same engine and don't plan on upgrading to a 1.5 vtec.
What are the prices for a decent assembly these days in Rawalpindi? Which one should I go for?
Any contacts?
Also any advice with regard to engine change and what to avoid will be much appreciated.

This service is just wastage of money. If your fuel average is good, engine sound is fine, car did not push left or right then you dont need it. I got it checked (free with a reference) they put it on jack and check some nuts on under body they were already tight. computer show everything fine, disk pads were good and they just change the oil and all filters and this was all. Dont pay that much for nothing. you can got checked under body, suspension and brakes from any good workshop in Rs.500. Dont let any body touch the engine if fuel average and sound is good (A mechanic at HONDA workshop told me).

First thing is that, Why did you decide to change the Shocks? If they are hard, new will be hard (as hell) as well (HONDA always use stiff suspension). If they are soft (Not too much) they are good to go. First get one of them removed (passenger side because it got more wear). Check it personalty without springs. What to check? First get the rod out as for as you can and check for play in the bust. second press it and see how hard it is to press, if goes in quickly its bad. check for any oil leaks. check for any signs of wear on the rod. Then decide if you need new ones.

1... Actually for the last few days i am feeling so much bump, car does not behave like a bigger car it seems that it does not absorb even small bumps, what could be the possible reasons behind this... shocks / bushes etc..? Also i can feel more engine noise inside cabin..

2..I showed front shocks to mechanic he checked both front and back ones he pushes them downward the front ones were not coming back to their normal position easily they stay more at downward positions .. typical term was .. bohat narm hu gaiy hain front shocks.

3..if we need to change shocks what would we prefer .. qable or genioun one?

Now according to your feedback changing shocks will not absorb small bumps because honda makes stiff and hard quality shocks so it really confusing for person like me

Once I was getting problem with my SUZUKI KHYBER suspension and I did the same (New ones were same so I returned them). I got my original ones repaired from a shop in just 500 (few years back now may be more). Repaired ones were a bit better than QABLI ones. But first check QABLI this will gives you an idea for further repairs.

Well I for one would go for new Shocks with a peace of mind and a warranty to look forward to in case anything goes wrong. Repairing is not a good idea at all. Qabli prices can vary from vendor to vendor and condition of the shocks.

both are reputed manufacturers, tokico shocks come as oem shock in swift. about the price, u will have to check market , for example i got my front shocks for swift tokico for 13k the kyb were around 10 i guess and and agriauto pak made were even cheaper. i went for tokico cause they were the same that came out of the swift, but i had used kyb in 2001 civic and no complaints. i had experimented like everyone does with qabli but had to change three pairs as they would leak ina month or so and the price difference between new and kabli was just 3k

Another thing some dealer was telling me that KHY and Tokino shocks have gases inside where as genuine shocks which are made in Thailand have oil in them, is it true?
