I have a honda city 2015, aspire manual 1.5, it is used for 138000 Kms, i have noticed that its engine oil comes to half between the upper and lower hole on dip stick after 2000 Kms of oil change, is it OK or not . I am using honda oil 5W30(green one).

When they change the oil its level lies somewhere between these two holes. As long as oil level is above the lower hole its safe to drive. When it goes below the lower hole then you will have low oil pressure in engine which can harm the engine. In your case we dont know what was the level of oil when it was changed. So in my personal opinion you should wait and keep an eye on oil level. If it goes below lower hole then your car need repairs. If it is kept above lower hole until 5k. No need to worry just change the oil.

Thanks, do you think upgrading to a higher viscocity 5W40 at this mileage(138000) is needed, as i used ZICXQ 5W40 on my previous car and found it to be great for the engine...

I think you should see the owners manual for change in viscosity. 5w30 works just fine on higher mileages also. Are u putting genuine oil?

if its not consuming oil then no need to change. im on 162k, still on 5w-30. No noticeable consumption of oil.

What’s the difference between Honda’s 5w-30 green and red packaging ? My car had first oil Change 2 months ago and they poured in the red one. The fuel average I’m getting is 10-11.

Stick to genuine 5w30 honda, total, mobil 1 etx. Bass it shud be 1 number bhai. As long as its above the lower level of the dipstick indicator there is no need to worry. Change at 5k and always go with the manual and no ustaad jee mechanics

I'm sick of waiting in lines at Honda 3S just for oil change. I'm think to go "Filter House" near my place and get it changed from there. I'll stick to 5W30. Which brand is good, I know honda and total are same, what about Zic? I have City 1.5 PT 25k driven. Uptill now I always changed from honda after 5K and both oil and Air filter changed at 10K.

Local shops do not have nut washer. If you reuse it again and again it will ruin the chamber and you have to do expensive repairs. This is the thing which is predictable. The thing which is not predictable is that the oil packing is original or copy of the original. I watched a program of SARE AAM in which they capture a gang packing fake oil of famous brands. If you want to stick with ZIC buy online from the manufacturer.

Brother zic has no 5w30. They have 5w40 and 0w30 i believe. Zic oils are excellent. In 5w30 total quartz is brilliant. If you wish to switch to something higher with a little high drain interval then its mobil 1 (eyes closed). But in reality mobil 1 will be expesive and waste of money for no reason. Stixk to 5w30 total or honda. Longer drain intervals are not recommended in our manuals

Today I changed the oil Total 5W30. @anwarshahbazch drain washer was fine so they didn't change but it was available with them.
What you guys recommend about oil filter, should I continue changing it after 10k with original one or change it with every oil change at 5k. Original one costs 1200. Some Malaysian brand was available for 500.

Any specific reason why at 5k when honda is recommending at 10k

Your engine for no reason will be burning sludge that is very likely to be built if oil filter is dirty. A new oil filter is is cheaper than a new engine. I would personally never do it even if they recommend. You can ask honda about it and do also let me know their explanation

Once the filter gets full enough, it will start bypassing unfiltered oil directly back into the mix. Why take a risk

I understand but maybe original filter is capable enough to hold the contemination produced in approximately 10k of running. Yes there is no harm of changing early but I don't want to overdone anything thing and filter is not cheap either.
