With due respect, i dont search the internet i am saying this based on experience my aspire sometimes used to knock on regular fuel especially in the summers i took it to honda showroom it was also not giving good average so the people there advised me to mix hi octane with regular and it made tons of difference especially in that car the engine went quiet, pick improved along with fuel economy and above all the engine knocking went away, now im not questioning you like you are questioning me but this is my opinion based on experience and really it does make a difference take lets say two honda citys fill one up all the way with regular and the other with lets say regular and hi octane mixed mark my words it will beat you in a race by atleast a gap of a car length. I have even see n some cars missing on regular but after filling hi octane work like a dream.so its not right to ignore the effect of hi octane in engines that are non turbo it does make a difference but the ideal way is to mix it occasionally like once a month if you do more than thats wastage or if one wants straight up performance from his vehicle.
