Need your help guys. Yesterday I took my 2014 1.5 Aspire auto (95K km with no previous radiator issue) for a short drive with AC on, and after about 10 mins of driving, the engine overheat light started blinking and the AC compressor turned off. I stopped the car to inspect and to let it cool down a bit, there was no signs of coolant leak visible and the bottle seemed to show a level in between the max and min lines (not too sure as it wasn't very clear).
Then I drove the car to a friend's place nearby and the light started blinking again after a couple of mins, and turned solid a min before reaching his place. There I let it cool down for a few mins and tried to check the coolant level in the reservoir bottle, but again I couldn't make out whether it was between the limits. My friend loosened the radiator cap carefully and then suddenly the coolant in the reservoir bottle started bubbling, between the level of min and max. We let it settle down and then opened the cap, to find the radiator not showing any coolant from the top. We then filled it with tap water to top it up, I think it took around 1 L. I then drove the car back home without any issues and parked it so that I can have this checked on Monday.
Can anyone guide me if this was just a coolant level issue, and since the car did heat up with the solid red overheat light for a min or so, what should I get done besides the usual flushing of the radiator fluid and refiling with Honda genuine coolant mix from a 3S dealership. I checked the coolant level today as well and it showed normal levels, so I'm hoping there is no major leakage in the system, but can't be sure of minor leaks. Thanks for reading the details but I think this was important to understand the issue.
